To know her is to love her; the woman, the myth, the legend (and an essential part of TLP)… Pam! And though she should be celebrated each and every day, today is her birthday, so we’re making it special!

Happy birthday, Mama. I couldn’t do it without you! And honestly, people like you more than me, so I shouldn’t 😂 We love you so much!

Send her birthday wishes in the comments, will ya?? ⬇️

🤦🏼‍♀️ Just got back from a long walk in the park with Gary where I had sadly spent practically the entire time with my head down writing a lengthy, detailed, incredibly thoughtful, funny, and eloquent caption for this post… and then I got distracted for ONE second and DELETED THE WHOLE THING. And now I have no energy left. 😞

So, in short, I went back to The Netherlands! And this time I brought Pam! 🥰

We came (I got asked out by a cute Dutch customs agent upon arrival @schiphol ), we saw (all the flowers possible, incredible art, and several men peeing in outdoor urinals by the canals), we conquered (the public transit system AND driving a rental car, which luckily didn’t end up in the canal next to the urinals).

Highlights included strolling the wisteria-lined streets, not getting hit by bicycles, seeing the shockingly low prices for floral and plants and crying into our croissants about it, meeting up with my sweet friend Liz, who happened to be nearby, for steak frites on my birthday, and lastly, meeting up with insta-famous flower powerhouse, @flowerstud who could not have been more kind, taking us behind the scenes at @royalfloraholland flower auction and then to visit @kokolkhortensia where we got to see a BRAND NEW variety of hydrangea that straight up blew my mind. 🤯 I truly cannot thank you enough, Peter!!

Oh! And of course we couldn’t end the trip without a visit to @visitkeukenhof , and a final farewell to this season’s tulips. 🫡 🌷

Not sure if this is going to be an annual thing, but it is still one of my favorite places to be. If only I had said yes to that Dutch customs agent… @schiphol , maybe you can find him for me. 😂 #missedconnections #misseddualcitizenshipopportunity 🫠

Until next time… 🇳🇱

Well this was unexpected… My wonderful family threw me a (totally unnecessary but incredibly thoughtful) surprise anniversary party last night 😂 7 years in business seems like a weird milestone to celebrate, but we blew past 5 and who knows if we’ll make it to 10 👵🏻 so 🤷🏼‍♀️ 7 it is! 🎉

Thank you to all who came! Each of you has played a part in TLP’s success and has helped shaped what it is (and who I am) today. I’m forever grateful.

And as per usual, special shout out to Pam who, as per usual, went above and beyond for me. Love you. Love you all!

It’s been a LONG time since I’ve posted a picture of my face. Every day I think, “I need to post to Instagram, and it should probably be my face… *sigh*,” and then I never do 😂

So here’s a shot of Pam and me from a wedding set up we did in October. For those who don’t know, I’m Jen (left 😂), and I’m the owner of The Local Petaler. If you send an email or message on social, it’s me you’re talking to! But to be honest, my mom, Pam, is really the star (the one with the great hair on the right). She helps me out on 90% of my setups and is a huge support in many other ways… mostly through the use of her SUV. (Jk, Mom.) Really, it’s Pam that the people want. And I get it. 😂 🤷🏼‍♀️

Anyway, I’m so proud of this business, and of course I want you all to know who’s behind it and literally put a face/faces to a name… but I get so self conscious and weird about pictures of myself 😑 so I’m sorry it’s been so long!

And hello 👋🏻! Thanks for following along! How did you first hear about us? 🥰

Today is Mama T’s birthday! Aka Pam, aka Pammy, aka PJ, aka The Local Petaler’s scut worker. 😂

My mom is the best. She is funny, kind, and generous, incredibly supportive and loving. I definitely couldn’t do what I do without her. Sure she’s accident prone, breaks the rules at every venue, and ignores GPS routes 90% of the time, but she’s always there. And I can’t express how much I love and appreciate her always.

Pam fun facts:

- She was a wedding singer! Still sings in two choirs. Was in several bands. Plays a mean tambourine.

- She was a teacher for 30-something years and then the President of the teacher’s union of D303! She’s “retired,” but works for Aurora University supervising new student teachers.

- She loves her demon dog (said lovingly), Molly, so much she decided to dye her hair to match.

Happy birthday, Mom. Love you.

Owen says,” Bark, bark. Bark bark bark.” Which loosely translates to, “I love my grandma. I want food.”
