In 2024 this felt like a full-circle moment. A talented team stood on the championship court at Malcolm X Park and painted with the same discipline, trust, and attitude that championship teams are built from. This wasn’t just a mural this was a mirror. A foundation. A reflection of a destination that already held value long before we arrived with paint.

Before us came the OGs: Coach Wilson & his brother, who started the RBA and planted seeds for what this court could become. A safe space. A home court. A classroom for how to carry yourself and how to protect the culture. Piece by piece, practice by practice, Malcolm X Park became a destination, a crossroad, an inheritance.

So when the call came to design the next chapter something functional, beautiful, rooted, and respectful we showed up as natives of this city.
3 courts connected.
This one titled “Give Them Their Flowers.”
A tribute to everyone who poured into this park before us.

Giving flowers is acknowledgment.
It’s respect in real time.
It’s “thank you” while we’re all still here to hear it.

We painted with the understanding that:
• The Game has rules.
• The culture has values.
• The court has memory.
• The community has ownership.

We didn’t just lay color we laid gratitude.
Evidence.
A record that says: we see you, we honor you, and we’re adding to what you built.

This court isn’t an installation.
It’s a continuation.
Malcolm X Park still marks the spot not just on a map, but in the hearts of the people who come here to hoop, gather, grow, breathe, be safe, and be seen.

This is Roxbury.
This is legacy.
Give them their flowers while they can still smell them.
