@puchu.design is a Buenos Aires-born illustrator and DJ based in Barcelona. Art director by day, and by night the kind of person who mixes electronic music with visuals just to see what happens. He’s also one of the masterminds behind the @ToscoFino brand identity. The logo, the red thread, the typefaces. He came on board early, when the bearings were still being put together, and the thing that pulled him in wasn’t the coffee, it was the idea that everyone in the chain is connected by something invisible. “The two typefaces represent two extremes: a super strong bold with a super delicate light, joined by that red thread whose shapes also create a coffee bean.” His illustration on the back of the bag is called “Awakening.” A person still half-asleep, diving into a giant cup of coffee that turns out to be an entire universe. Stars, planets, ocean. It makes sense when you know his work is always a little dreamlike, always has one thing in it that shouldn’t be there, and that’s exactly the point. He also uses his illustrations to represent the LGBT community. Iconic figures showing affection in public. A kiss. Holding hands. Small gestures that he wishes he’d seen as a kid. “If I had had a role model like that as a child, perhaps I wouldn’t have taken so long to feel comfortable with myself.” You can purchase his art through our website!
