I’m playing with my friend Tasia as “Misery Business” - a tribute to Paramore at the ongoing Pull The Covers Off music series. I’ll admit that I didn’t know much about Paramore before we started rehearsing, but wow - what a treat it’s been to dig into these songs! This will be a fun night!

Highwomen by The Highwomen, a remake of a a song from 1977 called The Highwayman. A Rolling Stones article says “[The Highwaymen’s characters] all died doing things that men do. Willie was a bandit. Johnny Cash drove a fucking starship, nobody knows why,” Carlile told Rolling Stone earlier this year. “We rewrote it with fates that befell women: a doctor convicted of witchcraft; an immigrant who died trying to get over the border but got the kids over safe and sound; a preacher; and a freedom rider who gets shot.” On a Wednesday night drive over to practice, Emily was listening to this song in the car and thought, we have to do this with Jena, Hannah, and Courtney at @pull_the_covers_off and thank goodness we did. Such a powerful song, covered by powerful women. Thank you, ladies, for joining us.

In 2023 we packed out @electrichazeworcester with our Brandi Carlile tribute — an unforgettable night dreamed up by our very own @emmmco

This time, we’re taking it further.
We’re “pulling the covers off” again — but this time, we’re joined by the rich musical community we’ve been building with over the past two years. Worcester’s scene has given us so much love, and we can’t wait to give it back on stage ❤️

🎤 Here’s Emily telling the story of how it all began — filmed live at @offtherailsworcester when we opened for @giulianodorazio.

See you Saturday, November 8 — let’s make another one for the books. Tickets at @pull_the_covers_off
