What a beautiful week it has been! 🤎🥹

For the first time in what feels like forever, I’ve had a week where I’ve been mostly symptom free! No nausea and little to no migraines. I can’t even begin to explain how amazing it feels to finally have some sense of normalcy again. 🥹

These past seven months have been some of the hardest months of my life. Physically, mentally, and emotionally, this journey has taken so much out of me. There have been so many days filled with pain, uncertainty, fear, and just trying to make it through the day. It’s something I wouldn’t wish on anyone.

And something I wasn’t expecting is how difficult it can be to actually feel okay again. As grateful as I am for these good days, I find myself feeling anxious, wondering if tomorrow will be the day I wake up feeling terrible again. It’s almost like my mind doesn’t know how to trust that I’m feeling better. After seven months of waking up not knowing what symptoms the day would bring, I think there’s a part of me that’s still stuck in survival mode. That fear doesn’t just disappear because I’m finally having good days. It almost feels like a form of PTSD from everything my body has been through.

Recently, I’ve also started struggling with my short-term memory. I can be told something and completely forget it moments later, which has been frustrating and honestly a little scary. I’m planning to get myself a journal to start writing things down and hopefully make everyday life a little easier.

If these past seven months have taught me anything, it’s that your health is something you should never take for granted. The simplest things, like waking up without nausea, making it through a day without a migraine, or just being able to enjoy life without constantly thinking about how you feel, are such incredible blessings.

I’m learning that healing isn’t just physical. Sometimes your body starts feeling better before your mind catches up, and that’s okay. I’m trying to allow myself to enjoy these good days without living in fear of the bad ones.

Here’s to continued healing, finding peace in the good days, and hopefully many more beautiful weeks ahead. 🤎

The Creative Futures Brunch™ x SA Startup + Tech Week | Pt. 1 ☕️🥐🖤

A little Creative Futures lore.

In 2019, we hosted our very first Creative Futures Brunch. It was supposed to lead into our first conference, which never happened. We were young, green, and figuring it all out. 😂

But Box St. Social and Pulp Coffee Roasters believed in us anyway.

Fun fact: James Mireles and Pulp Coffee actually gave The Down Market team our very first paid creative project. I'll never forget that.

Seven years later, after countless projects, restaurants, lessons, failures, and wins, we're back together. Only now, we've actually produced the conference, and we're exploring new opportunities in tech and AI together.

Man, what a full-circle moment. 🥹

To Chef Edward, Daniel, Caroline, James, and the entire Pulp Coffee team, thank you for believing in us then and continuing to build with us now.

The best part isn't just what we're building. It's who we get to build it with.

Seven years later, we're still just getting started.
