DON’T MESS WITH TEXAS I sat down to write this song with a little bit of Kerosene, a little bit of Before He Cheats, and a dash of Johnny Cash guiding the way. I knew I wanted to release this song to you this month. Instead, life had other plans. Along with postponing this release, I’ve had to step away from gigs and cancel opportunities with venues and bookers I was excited to work with. I won’t pretend that part isn’t scary. But this season is teaching me something bigger than momentum.. It’s teaching me trust. Trusting the unknown. Trusting God’s timing. Trusting that what’s meant for me won’t miss me. Maybe sometimes you have to take a step back so you can take a step forward. This song is still coming. For now, here’s a little taste of DON’T MESS WITH TEXAS… One of my last performances before vocal rest was with @pulseoftheppl and it was such a special one. Grateful to have shared the stage with so many talented artists and to have been part of such an incredible event. #singersongwritersofinstagram #dfwmusic #folkrock #folkpop #countrysingersongwriter
