Hey people. Haven’t put effort into a post since before auditions. Lots have changed. I’ve made POW percussion between then and now. Really honored to be able to march with that group but this was the group I was auditioning for lmao. TBH I’ve known this audition piece since day 1 of auditions but haven’t tried to get it good until now and it is HARD. Really insane lick 10/10 would try again.

There will be more audition prep videos now as audition date draws nearer. I remember when this exercise was first played in the lot at the pulse preview show in 23 and I absolutely lost every marble that was ever in my possession. Now I will be playing it in front of the very people who wrote it for a spot on my dream line… damn full circle moment lmao :)

Pulse 25

i have a bad habit of squeezing and using more arm when i’m not actively thinking abt it even if a passage isn’t that hard, definitely need to work on that

POST 200 and day 57 of posting everyday till pc auditions. so for my 200th post i decided to do a get to know me as i have alot of new followers now!

Hello, my name is Tadashi Richie. i am currently 17 years old and im a senior at my local high school and also play quads there. i’ve been playing quads for about 2 and a half years now and have seen enormous growth and improvement since i began. i have always been really interested into the DCI (and a lil WGI) scene ever since i saw my first show (bluecoats 2024) and ever since ive always wanted to be apart of a group so talented and so determined as any DCI group. i have auditioned before at impulse! and even getting a callback but eventually getting cut at the callbacks and will be going to @darkskypercussion auditions this September to get more audition experience before drum corps auditions were im going to be auditioning for @tidequads. my four biggest inspirations are @howdyits_john, @just.jaedon, @rudimentalmindset and @zach.borquez as they have taught me so much and push me to become as good of a drummer as i can possibly be and i wouldn’t be where i am today without them and im so grateful for them! as for this page, i will continue to post here until i cant no more and i greatly appreciate all the followers and support ive gained over the previous 200 posts and hopefully 200 more to come!

I got really mad while recording this one lol. On paper I’ve played way harder stuff but this one was super hard to get as close to perfect as I could. So many little intricacies in there and this end product here still isn’t as good as I would like it to be but I don’t really got the energy to do one more :(
ANYWAYS this feature inspired a lot of people INCLUDING MYSELF, though I never got to see it live since I didn’t even know what drumline was when this was happening lol. Top 3 features post covid FOR SURE.

Had a great lesson with my mentor Jacob last night and he told me that I should transcribe more stuff so I made time to do that today right before work! I have always loved this feature and it holds a very dear place in my heart as it was the first pulse I have ever watched. Great writing, hopefully I got the transcription correct 🤞

Kind of short video but this was BY FAR my favorite full battery chunk out of this entire season. What was also really fun about it was there was no sheets for it online so I had to transcribe it myself which was surprisingly a lot of fun :)

I ripped through at least one roll but the fives felt really nice. Need to work on relaxing my front fingers so they don’t hut after.
