One of the biggest dangers in entrepreneurship isn’t failure. It’s succeeding and slowly convincing yourself that you did it all on your own.

The rich young man had built a life he couldn’t imagine letting go of. And when Jesus challenged the very thing he had placed his identity in, he walked away.

Build the business. Make the money. Chase excellence.

Just don’t become so attached to what you’ve built that you forget Who gave you the ability to build it in the first place.

Success is a blessing. Until it becomes your identity.

Something I’ve been realizing lately is how easy it is to get so caught up in where you’re trying to go that you completely miss what God is putting right in front of you.

I’m always thinking about the next goal, what I need to work on, where I need to be better, what’s next… and I think there’s a point where being driven can actually make you unaware.

Unaware of the people God puts around you. The conversations you needed. The opportunities that randomly show up. Even just the moments that you’ll probably wish you appreciated more when you look back.

I don’t think the answer is to stop being ambitious or stop chasing the things God put on your heart.

I think it’s just learning how to chase them without being so focused on the destination that you miss what He’s doing on the way there.

A lot can happen when you’re actually paying attention.
