POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Lee and Marcy from my ongoing project “Portraits of the Queer Community”

Images of the series have been selected by Der Greif GuestRoom. I am very grateful to Sarah Lewis
(@sarahelizabethlewis1) and Jessica Stark (@jessicawilliamsstark).

Thank you to all the courageous and incredible human beings that have given their time and creativity to work with me on this project.

der_greif #GreifGuestRoom: This edition has been curated by award-winning author and Harvard professor Sarah Lewis
(@sarahelizabethlewis1) and photography historian Jessica Stark (@jessicawilliamsstark), on the theme:
“When They See Us”
The title honors filmmaker Ava DuVernay and curator Koyo Kouoh. DuVernay’s miniseries
“When They See Us” revealed the crisis of misrecognition surrounding the now-exonerated Central Park Five. Kouoh’s exhibition “When We See Us” shifted the gaze from they to we, affirming the political and cultural power of Black joy, self-definition, and presence.
