I get emotional after great weekends out. It's partially the buckfast hangover and the hearing damage getting to me but it's mainly because I am so grateful for all these wonderful eejits in my life. I started going to punk shows at a really hard time in my life. My first punk show was in Bohs and going to the 'final' show there, and bringing my brothers to their first punk show, made me think about how much the scene has saved me.

Having friends that I see every weekend at gigs, the older generations of punx & skins who I look up to, an amazing community where everyone has each others' back, has meant so much to me over the past few years. I've connected with so many amazing people through the punk&skin scene, both in Ireland and abroad.

Since getting more involved by making zines and gig promoting, I've felt more gratitude for everyone involved than I ever did before. Thanks to all the older skins for giving us hand-me-downs and making us feel welcome. Thanks to all the experienced gig promoters for being there when I need advice. Thanks to my friends and their friends and their friends' friends for the support whenever we put on shows.

This scene is my whole world. I love the lot of yous so much and ye don't know how thankful I am every day to have yous in my life. I'm going to watch old irish punk shows on youtube and have a cry. Buckfast is thicker than blood, yous are my family. I know I'll never be alone again ❤️💥

An independently made spec film celebrating Fred Perry’s long relationship with skinhead, ska, reggae, punk and working class subculture.

Made with no budget, and filmed across England, Scotland and Ireland, the project brought together a group of creatives with a deep appreciation of the culture, the music and the Laurel Wreath.
