Observations 2 out now (full video in bio link)

As some of you might already be hip to, we have a new video series called Observations, which sprung about unexpectedly and quite by chance. It all connects back to a silly little handycam Becca found in Japan and how much fun we’ve been having with it.

Our second installment captures roughly 24 hours of our lives, technically spread across two days.

Day one began with a surf session among friends, followed by a visit to Troy’s shaping bay to film him shaping boards for Daydream. He also made me a delicious coffee. Thank you, Troy, you’re a beautiful soul and a true hand shaper, increasingly rare these days.

Day two, I linked up with Dismal for a poetry reading in front of the demolished old Daydream shop, now a pile of dirt on 16th and Monrovia. Thank you, Dismal, you’re a true artist and gem of a human.

That evening, we hosted Ford Archbold’s Wall Collages opening reception at Daydream, accompanied by an absolute cosmic adventure of music from Tommy Midnight and Branden Bartsch. I recorded their performance on this dinky handycam and pulled the audio into the edit.

Massive shout out to my dear friend Ford. His artwork is incredible and we’re honored to showcase our friends’ creativity in our space. It means so much to us.

Endless gratitude to Tommy and Branden for serenading us. They’re incredibly kind and creative people, and anyone who knows them can attest to that.

Surfing, shaping, coffee, friendship, poetry, art, music, and a party
