Hi All! 💌

Last month, @punkpostco announced its closure, and it’s been a week since I wrote my last card and all the emotions are settling in.

The Punkpost community has been a profound source of inspiration and connection. I’ve grown so much, gaining confidence in my art and perfecting my style through the support of fellow artists nationwide. I also had the incredible chance to meet some in person 🤍

Thank you, @lexmons, @stephgalvin, @brennamedia, @splashoftdesign, @thecreativeink, @franwrites, @katygood, and all other artists for letting me be a part of the team and for giving me the chance to channel my creativity one snail mail at a time.

6550+ cards sent is insane and 5200 copies of my designs being sold is crazier!!

Anyway, I’m not sure where my creative path will lead next, but you can follow @thesweetsalts to continue this journey with me. ✌️

I remember the first time @punkpostco popped up on my Instagram feed in 2019. As someone who has made homemade cards for nearly every occasion since I can remember, I was immediately obsessed. I applied, but unfortunately, they weren’t in need of any new handwriting-artists.

Fast forward to May 2020 (what a lovely time in the world) and I was finally able to join the team. While the whole world was in isolation, snail mail was once again appreciated. More and more people wanted to connect via handwritten letters and Punkpost was the company to make it happen! I felt so lucky to join the Punkpost community and do something I’ve loved doing since I can remember: creating artwork to share with others.

When I started teaching, I took a year hiatus to focus on my career. Once I had a good balance of work and free time, Punkpost gladly brought me back on to make more cards. I was so excited to jump back in and share some fun snail mail with the world, once again.

From May 2020 to July 2024, I’ve handwritten 2,598 cards, designed 15 cards to be sold in the Punkpost inventory, and been marked as a favorite artist by 564 customers. Along with those accomplishments, I’ve made countless connections with customers and fellow handwriting artists within the Punkpost community. All of these people have helped me grow in my artistic life, but also, in all aspects of life.

Through these last 4 years, I’ve gone through a lot in my personal life and they were there to see it all and help me through it. I became an art teacher, lost my dad to cancer, got married to the love of my life, left teaching, and am now pregnant with our first baby. Whenever I needed to rant about any of these things, I knew my fellow handwriting artists would be there for me to give me advice or just an ear to listen.

I’m forever grateful for all that Punkpost has given me. I’ve gained confidence, experience, knowledge, community and friendship. I’m really hoping that one day Punkpost will be resurrected, but for now, this is goodbye.

Thank you, Punkpost.

It’s the end of an era 💔

My last two cards being written, sealed up and dropped in the mailbox. 🥲 More mail will go into that mailbox, but not another Punkpost card.

My last Punkpost card 🥲

I’ve written cards almost daily since September 16, 2016. It feels like a lifetime ago and yesterday all at the same time. I nervously sat on the phone while Lex waited for me to finish my first card, a birthday card to a friend of hers. It was … something. Let’s just say I have improved a lot over the years.

I finished my Punkpost writing career with a colorful, unicorn-filled card on July 25, 2024. It’s the card you see here. My handwritten message goes with the “Bursting With Thanks” unicorn design on the front designed by Keisha. A fitting end to so many years and hours of writing cards.

Punkpost stats:
💌 8,202
👩🏻‍🎨 21 card designs
🗓️ 7 years, 10 months, 9 days
⏰ 2,392 hours (since January 2018, I didn’t track my time until then)

I grew in so many ways thanks to Punkpost: as a handwriting artist, as a social media and marketing manager, and as a person. I can’t even thank Lex and Santiago enough for giving me a shot. It’s my favorite role and job I’ve ever had. I’ve been lucky to work behind the scenes with so many amazing humans. I’m so glad the internet exists so I can stay connected to these fun and inspiring people, even after we have dropped our last cards in the mail.

Now it’s on to new adventures. I don’t exactly know what all that entails yet, but I do know I’ll still be around here sharing pens, buying stamps and sending mail. You can follow along here and on @snailmailedit. I loved snail mail before Punkpost, and I’ll love snail mail after. 💌

This whole transition from @punkpostco handwriting artist to solo has been very overwhelming and incredibly hard. I appreciate your support and patience so much! Cards are coming soon, I promise ✍️💌💕

In the meantime you can subscribe over on my website, I’ll be sending my first email newsletter within the coming week and can’t wait to reveal the shop 👀
