still taking this one in!

The other day, blu’s took home FIRST PLACE and $5,000 at LEAP’s The Hatching pitch competition!!

what started as two roommates making bagels in a little blue house has turned into something bigger than we ever imagined. getting to share our story, our vision, and everything we’ve been building made this moment so special.

a huge thank you to @purelansing for believing in young entrepreneurs and creating opportunities for small businesses like ours to dream a little bigger. we’re so grateful to the judges, organizers, mentors, and everyone who has supported us along the way.

to everyone who has ordered a bagel, shared a post, told a friend, or cheered us on, you are such a big part of this.

we have some pretty big plans for blu’s, and this is only the beginning.

from the blue house to what’s next. 💙

LEAP knows how to put on a pitch night. Founders on stage, real conversations after, and way too many paper business cards floating around. We fixed that for a few people. quicktapcards.com

From major agricultural and economic investments to workforce development, recreation, infrastructure, and regional partnerships, Clinton County is taking a deliberate approach to preparing for the future.

Now that all of my kids are in school, I’ve been thinking about how thankful I am for the people who have been part of their early years.

Boston had such a great preschool experience, and we loved seeing him learn through play, imagination, friendships, and all those little foundational skills.

And we’re so thankful Emersyn had the opportunity to go through GSRP, especially when spots were harder to come by.

Looking back, I realize just how much those experiences meant to our family. It really does take a village. 💛

That’s a big part of why I’m so happy to be involved with the Capital Area Child Care Coalition and help support access to quality child care for other families, too.

Want to learn more about CACCC or get involved? Visit the link in my bio. 💛

About last night... I just completed a 10 week program through LEAP called One & All! I met 12 other amazing entrepreneurs...we learned necessary business building skills, shared stories, gave encouragement and ultimately completed all the necessary requirements to graduate and receive our grant funding.

What an amazing opportunity this was, and I'm so incredibly grateful. 🙏

I have a vision to bring to life The ignitHER Collective as a community to support women navigating the multitude of changes and transitions that come along in your 40s and 50s.

Its time to start the conversation...and the movement. 🔥

Congratulations to Harrison Leffel-Jones; VP, Small Business & Innovation at LEAP for the 10 Over the Next Ten Award.

Harrison took a career from Lansing to Chicago to London and back, not by accident, but by choice. As vice president of small business and innovation at LEAP, Harrison has deployed more than $1 million to regional small businesses, co-founded 517 E&I Week, and earned a Certified Economic Developer designation. An MSU alum, Historical Society board member, proud parent of twins, and dedicated Westside neighbor, Harrison is building the Lansing this honoree has always believed was possible. Since 2022, Harrison has served as Public Board Chair of the Lansing Regional SmartZone.

Fam, I was dead set on opening a storefront first. I love people. I wanted to be in the neighborhood. Get to know the community. Be present.

But my Wife and my guy Tony from LEAP told me straight up — wholesale first. Not a storefront. Wholesale.

And what I thought I could only do with a storefront — connecting with people and building community — I actually had a greater chance of doing through wholesale.

That one piece of advice transformed my business and my future.

Slow is smooth. Smooth is fast.

Sometimes you just have to shut up and listen fam. When you listen to the right people you end up in the right places. 🙏
