6 months, 6 events, and 250 followers!

Back in April, we started Garod Collective to host the type of Armenian cultural events we were hoping to attend. Honestly, it was meant to be one event in April, and we didn’t really think about what was to come next. But people kept showing up, and asking, and wanting more. We realized our name was more apt than we originally thought. There is a strong desire (garod) to meet and build community together in an accessible and grounded way.

We wanted more too. So, we committed to one event per-month, and even though we’re just a team of two, it felt so easy. The ideas were pouring out of us and people were always ready to help. Whether it was through donating, giving us spaces for free, helping us generate new ideas, or connecting us with the right people.

6 months in, we’re happy to say that every event has been a bigger success than the last, and that we really are building a very special community. So a sincere thank you to all of our collaborators and everyone who has attended our events!

As we plan our October event, we’d appreciate donations to help keep our events free! Venmo: @garod_collective.
