Can you smell it already?🌲

That smell after a summer rain at the lake — damp pine needles, balsam in the cool air, woodsmoke drifting from campfires, and the earthy scent of the water along the shoreline. Somehow it carries every childhood memory at once. Late sunsets, screen doors slamming, bare feet on old docks, and the feeling that summer would last forever.

What is your favorite ADK scene?

This is me and my dog Santa on top of Mount Marcy—the mountain I’m named after.

This is the exact hike that inspired our top-selling @pureplacid scent, Mount Marcy.

Santa climbed it like it was nothing… I swear he did it three times. Running ahead, back down, and up again while we were still catching our breath.

And my sister? She packed like we were moving in. Huge backpack, way too much dried fruit… which she definitely regretted halfway through. Still makes me laugh.

But what stayed with me most was the feeling up there.
The air, the trees, the quiet… and those little moments you don’t realize you’ll remember forever.

I feel so lucky that I’ve been able to turn this memory into a scent—one that brings me right back every time I smell it.

Lake life in the Adirondack Mountains moves at its own pace 🌲 Right now it feels especially slow with most ice beginning to thaw for the spring season.

The Adirondack Park Agency helps regulate shoreline development to protect water quality, which is why many Adirondack lakes remain among the cleanest in the Northeast.
