‘I Point, You Shoot’ at @apophenia.amsterdam ’s first exhibition, Amsterdam 2026 / Portraits taken by the subjects themselves, using a cable release.

Photography is inherently un-collaborative. We refer to images as being ‘shot’ or ‘taken’, and when regarding a portrait, these words make sense - one takes, the other is taken from. The self-portrait, now commonly the selfie, has the power to collapse this dynamic. But how do we cut through the unequal aspect of photography when it involves more than the self?

Prompted by the exhibited Polaroid’s shot by Marc H. Miller and Bettie Ringma in the 80’s (taken in the same bar), we continued to experiment with the reciprocal nature of self-representation and collaboration.

For those of you that stood before the black hole of the lens and controlled it yourself, that skirted the edges of a dynamic so normalised, that engaged in subverting the photographic process together - thank you.

In the craze of life and busy-ness of spring, you’d almost forget that all things green are growing vigorously. So, to make sure we can enjoy some cooling greenness the rest of the season, Matt picked up numerous small plants and a lot of seed at De Fruittuinen, and Suzy, Lisa and Matt prepared the planters around the café for spring. Periwinkle, sage, thyme, yarrow and nasturtiums will be in abundance, amongst others. Usually, the inverse is true, but now, Captain Beefheart’s ‘fast goes fast and slow goes slow’ applies. Lushness awaits!

2026 already feels in full force 🌬️
after a short but sweet escape to the austrian mountains, january continued with an all night b2b w/ my dearest @aubaade at @murmur.ams & then an invite from @platform1collective to play @sfamsterdam! thanks to all the cuties who crawled out of hibernation to support & dance, I had a blaaaaaaast

'Now I Know What Dreams Are Made Of'

This record is a gathering of thoughts, experiences and dreams I have & had & will continue to have. It tells the story of living a whole life in one dream - fighting to stay asleep and living out absurd fantasies, hopping from one wacky world to another, where reality seeps in but in a way that is just a bit easier to confront. Waking up from that dream I felt I knew better how to face the reality of things. ㅤㅤ

'Keep Me Safe' and 'I Still See You' began as demos in 2022.
Originally, both started out as long-winded drumless passages for live and DJ sets.
Over the past three-ish years, I've leaned deeper into maximalism and found new techniques to obsess over - taking pop and trance structures to the max (or at least as far as I can take it), crashing into just-about-club-ready breakdowns and building a monument of vocal chops, clock ticks and microfills. I extend my warmest love to @fussy_sussy & @norakorra for lending their ultra-HD ultra-pop voices to these songs. It truly made them so special to my heart. 💘

'Tuyou' was made as an intro track to my North America tour late last year. I wanted the whole song to sound like an endurance piece of sorts - not knowing what direction it will take next, not knowing what the destination is, but definitely knowing I wanted it to explode in the most intense way. I'm grateful to be able to share this B-Side, to me it feels like a time capsule to the amazing moments I had last winter in NA. 💟

Thank you to @_virus2020 for the amazing art treatment for these releases. To me it perfectly captures something cold, fresh and familiar - like the perfect collision between warmly organic and intensely technological. 🌷🔮

I’m very excited to share with you that this coming friday (14|02|2025), I will showcase a new exploration of 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘳 𝘔𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘴 as part of the program 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦, 𝘯𝘰𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘥. This evening program is dedicated to exploring the relationship between radio, voice and performance, viewed through the lens of three pieces that work with language, (hi)stories, archive, place, time and distance within the sonic realm.

𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘳 𝘔𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘴 was broadcasted last November as an hour long sound work that resulted from my residency with the wonderful @jajajaneeneeneeradio. I’m very grateful and happy that this time round, I was given the opportunity, alongside buulbuul (@yourfriendkas & @haider.mkht) and @nombusomathibela and @cu_xtremes to rework this research material into a new exploration in the last month. 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘳 𝘔𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘴 now takes the shape of a text-based performance and soundscape that explores the experience of connecting to multitudes, of place, presence and identity. I’m accompanied by my dear @fussy_sussy, who will be performing alongside me!
