Today was a great day for @purposedhealing! 💜

We had the opportunity to get out into the community, connect with some amazing people, and introduce our new MSW interns to another important side of social work and private practice—community engagement, networking, and marketing mental health services.

Our interns were able to earn field hours while gaining hands-on experience learning how to represent and market a mental health private practice, engage with community members, share resources, and build meaningful connections with other vendors and organizations.

Clinical skills are important, but learning how to build relationships, advocate for mental health, connect people to resources, and represent your organization in the community is part of professional development too!

A huge THANK YOU to @thetrifectaandcompany for providing this opportunity for Purposed Healing to participate and connect with the community. We appreciate the invitation and the space to promote healing, wellness, and access to mental health support.

Today was about learning, connecting, serving, and growing! 💜🌱

I am truly thankful for the incredible honor of receiving the 2024 Dr Martin Luther King Jr Legacy Award. I am truly humbled and grateful to be recognized for my commitment to advancing Dr. King’s legacy of equality, justice, and peace by supporting individuals of color in attaining optimal mental well-being by addressing the impact of historical, generational, and present-day trauma.

Receiving this award reminds me of the importance of using my voice and platform to advocate for the rights of marginalized communities. It encourages me to continue challenging systemic barriers and working towards a future where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to the Willie J. Bradley Foundation Inc., and the Nu Omicron Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. and the MLK Legacy Award committee for selecting me as the recipient of this prestigious award. I extend a heartfelt congratulations and job well done to the other amazing 2024 award recipients. I am truly honored and will carry this recognition with pride.

I am grateful for the unwavering support from my husband, family, and friends today and always. Thank you! @alphaphialpha @nuomicronlambdaalphas

When black women come together, MAGIC happens!

Today.
Today was life changing.

Every time, I just do what God tells me to do, He shows me “WHY” I should!

Today, I got to hear how black women handle fear and when their spirituality has been tested.

Today, I got teary eyed as I listened to black women reflect on how exhausting being strong all of the time can be and why the “soft life” should be attainable.

Key Baker with @purposedhealing shared how to become mentally and emotionally secure.

@iamtiffanysherice shared her journey to releasing her single, “Do It Afraid”.

Today proved that SECURE is my baby and if I take care of her, she will bloom into a masterpiece.

Thank you @authenticallysharonoliver for allowing us to shoot at the @creativesplaygroundrva. Your space is a creative’s dream.

Thank you @trueskynbeauty for making sure our beauty shined from the inside out. Your brushes are magical.

Thank you @theejoiunspeakable for listening to my crazy ideas and helping me bring this series to life. I am so grateful to see your creative genius unfold.

Thank you @samayahlynn for always getting me the shots that I need to give people “sneak peeks”. Your heart is so huge.

To my ladies of SECURE, I love each and everyone of you.
Thank you for trusting me.
Thank you for saying “yes”.

Most importantly, God, thank you for giving me this opportunity. Daily, You show me that what I bring to the table is ENOUGH!

Stay tuned for the next two episodes.

Proud to have done one full song of #xtremehiphop that @getfitwithdg had on #youtube . Y’all I am only 42 days #postsurgery from a total left #hipreplacement and while I have daily healing pains (which is normal right now), my #flexibility is pretty good.
.
I wanted to see what I could do, was tired after one song, wasn’t moving like I usually do, BUT!!!!!!!!!! I DID THAT and I am SOOOOOOO proud.!!!!!!🙌🏽🙌🏽❤️❤️
.
I will not be the product of the “I Can’t” crew…nah, In a moment of difficulty, I’m expecting the extraordinary. I am a #xtremehiphopinstructor and I will rise again!!!!

Each of us, was created by god, making us the light of the world. We each have a purpose on earth. Showing our light by god example, through our generosity of serving, loving, good attitude, good personality.Being the same example like God and Jesus. May god gives each of us his eyes, to see each other the way he see us, to love and impact each other lives like god and Jesus. #Praying #Prayers #HappyWeekend
