#spotted #owlet when someone whispers a joke in mate's ear and you find it funnier!! #happyplace . The forest they live in is facing a lot of tree cutting #sindhrot #deforestation . I have been observing these owlets for so many years and cannot imagine the place being under so much pressure from human development. Request #vmcvadodara or #Sindhrot #grampanchayat or #gujaratgovernment to look into this and please save the forest.

Blue tailed bee-eaters are back and are stopping the buzz quite efficiently!! They eat insects and gift them to their gf's and kids!! Very effective in their job.
A worrisome news this year is that the area they used for nesting has been completely stripped of trees and hence their nests are in danger of soil erosion and to be taken over by humans! I wish pray and hope this does not happen and that people realise their importance before it's too late... #longtimenopost
#bluetailedbeeeater
#sindhrot
#sindhrotnaturepark please take a note of the deforestation in that area

GUJARAT BIRD WALK
VADODARA CHAPTER
BIRD WALK #004

Date : 17/04/2022
Location : Orsang Gamdi Resort, Dabhoi

Orsang Resort supports great avian diversity along with various places to explore. Considering we are visiting in Mid-April, we have high chances of observing numerous species singing and also performing courtship rituals. One of those species is the extravagant Indian Pitta which is famously known as 'Navrang' in Gujarati. Orsang supported multiple breeding pairs last season and we hope it continues to do so. Other birds that we can be wary of are Indian Scimitar Babbler, Orange-headed Thrush, Indian Paradise Flycatcher, Changeable Hawk-Eagle, Malabar Flameback (or as E-Bird supports, Greater Flameback), and many more such beauties.

The Nocturnal Birding especially, is going to be super awesome experience and we are going to have owling in nearby trek. We can expect sighting Nightjars and Brown Boobook.
