Ex-IRA Members speaking about the Helicopter Escape in Mountjoy Prison in Dublin. The Mountjoy Prison helicopter escape occurred on 31 October 1973 when three Provisional IRA volunteers escaped from Mountjoy Prison in Dublin, by boarding a hijacked helicopter that briefly landed in the prison’s exercise yard. The helicopter landed at a disused racecourse in the Baldoyle area of Dublin, where the escapees were met by members of the IRA’s Dublin Brigade and transported to safe houses.

Our 2026 home shirt, in memory of Billy Young and inspired by the shirt worn 50 years ago by our cup winning team, the first kit in either Ireland or Britain with a sponsor. 🔴⚫️

The shirt will be available at midday on December 18th both online and at The Bohs Store in Glasnevin. It will only be available in long sleeve.

With thanks to main club partners Des Kelly Interiors and our kit supplier O’Neill’s who both agreed to use their logos from the era alongside a Bohemian FC crest from the time.

The late release of the shirt is due to a full redesign which was undertaken once we had certainty on the last season of Dalymount being 2026, we wish to thank O’Neill’s for ensuring we will have available pre-Christmas.

A short documentary that we put together on Pope Francis' visit to Ireland in 2018.

When the last Pope, John Paul the 2nd visited in 1979, Ireland was a very different country; Mass attendance was among the highest in the Catholic World, homosexuality and abortion were illegal and the Catholic Church had a disproportionate influence over social life in Ireland.

39 years later, Ireland today has been rocked by decades of Clerical Abuse Scandals and the true extent of the politico-religious carceral state has been revealed. The overwhelming votes towards Marriage Equality and the Repeal the 8th Amendment Referendums (both which the Church opposed) have shown that Ireland has changed drastically and the influence of the Church has diminished greatly.

Shot in Dublin, Knock and Tuam this documentary covers those celebrating Pope Francis' 2018 visit,
those protesting, and those still experiencing hurt from the Catholic institutions in Ireland today.
