What a year it’s been.

I bought my first house at 24, and it’s been exciting but nerve wracking (racking?) at the same time. Proud to say i’ve come so far on my own two broken legs. I had lots of help from some great people, especially my brother @charlieboyyy94 and it’s taught me how important a small but close circle can be.

I also bought the best car ever made, the Honda fuckin Fih. so that’s thrown in here also.
Aside from the house, the highlights have been- I got drunk and somehow managed to get a job interview at the bar I was at, passed out during my blood draw, and saved a cat all in the same day, so my life is still as chaotic but fun as everyone remembers. Anyway thanks to all 5 people who read the annual post description, I didn’t proofread either. Also included the sick artwork from @pushtostartdesign Thank you again Andi! #FknBaloney

One of my favorite things about cars, and specifically 'enthusiast' cars is that we are encouraged to make them our own. I like how it really didn't take a whole lot to get this car where I want it.

Visually, I'm not changing a thing. Subtle black eyeliner on the lights (tails too), plaid GTI shift boot, a fantastic BFI weighted knob and my stickers have done a great job in that regard.

I'm just waiting on my vanity plate that is sure to get some eye rolls from everyone in the Peanut Gallery.

This car has really ended up surprising me. With an ECU tune it's actually pretty quick, but after upgrading the tires and things like a shorter throw shifter and knob, this thing is a joy to drive either like a grandpa or a kid who just got their license. And for once, I'm not going to lower it. The ride quality is literally the nicest of any of my 20 cars.

Miata Motorsport Mondays: We are so back

By September we thought that temps would drop to okay levels and this weekend proved for that to be a lie. Despite the heat, we managed to have a mostly successful track day.

This time around I got to finally try out the famed combination of Gloc R10 fronts and R8 rears. I found this to be just what this car needs for even later braking. Could I have gotten away with using R8 fronts again? Yes, but every part replacement is an opportunity to try something new, and I can now see why this combination is loved so much.

A personal best was achieved in the first session with a 1:28.8. There’s absolutely more time on the table for my car as is, but with this track I already feel content with this achievement. I take more pride now in being able showcase what this car is capable of to members of our Miata community to inspire them to chase the goals I once did. To pay forward the guidance I received in my formative years of tracking to the next generation of drivers breaking the limits of what these cars are capable of.

Track season is back, and so are we.
