Such a powerful evening at the American Embassy in a room with my peers.... @usa_in_uk ...., for the annual Women in Journalism Awards, where we saw incredible women from our industry awarded ....Rising Stars of the year, Women of the Year, and lifetime achievement Award. @womeninjournalism_uk These women have been fighting to air stories on television and in print press, way before diversity and inclusion was a thing. These women have been on the front line on the receiving end of trolls and attacks throughout their careers. These women have been challenging male voices in newsrooms for decades. Yet still they persevere and bring stories to our TV screens daily and are responsible for changes in national policy, and doing jobs that police haven't succeeded with. Best Newcomers: 🎥 @rianna_croxford 🎥 @creesummerh_ Women of the Year: 📺 @cathynewmanc4 📺 @bethrigbysky 📺 Sam Poling Lifetime Achievement Award: ⭐ @christinalambauthor I think I'm bad ass. These women are the definition of bad ass! Starting the Year this way has charged up all our batteries to 100%. Big up tonight's sponsor @no7uk who curated the absolute best goodie bag for women in television and journalism! 👏🏽 🙏🏽
