If you know me you know that hunting is a passion of mine. I mean I own a 2 piece camo suit I wear to church for heavens sake. This year I’ve spent some of the loneliest days scouting and hunting and being in the mountains by myself! I didn’t realize at the time this pic was taken of the true blessing that I had been given that day. See not only was it my dad’s birthday, but I had all 4 of my kids with me that day. My dad’s been gone for 17 years; he was the one who taught me the love for the outdoors. I had all my kids together for a small moment doing something that he and I love to do, and it never once crossed my mind I had them all there. I took it for granted, until @pwillis801 sent me this photo reminding me what matters most. Just being together. It’s not about the taking the life of an animal. I knew that because growing up we never shot a deer or elk ever. My dad never cared too. His success wasn’t measured in the shooting of something, his was his kids and about spending that precious time with those he loved. What I wouldn’t give to have one more hunt with my dad. Don’t take it for granted. Enjoy these little moments you get cause someday they’ll be gone. I love my kids and I love you Dad! Thank you for another life lesson learned on the mtn top. #lovemyfamily
