Year was 2006 and had just been introduced to Mainframe(Jon). Jon had been inviting me to the studio when I was going through Bikram training in LA 2005 and told me JD was around. I thought he meant Jermaine Dupri. I had no idea he was talking about JAY DEE/J Dilla. One early morning I drove up to Jon’s in LBC, walked into the studio and Blu was crashed out on the floor from what looked like a late night session…that was the first time I met him. I couldn’t help but notice a black MPC on the couch, started tapping on it and was like “oh man whose is this?” Jon looked at me and said “that’s DILLA’S”. I pulled my hands away & realized I had overstepped my boundaries unintentionally. Dilla passed about a month before. Jon had been sending me beats from his OX label. Dilla, OhNo & his own. I laced all of them although only sent Jon a few. I still have sessions in the vault I haven’t showed anyone. This song I’m sharing circulated throughout the LA underground at that time thru a few DJs that had it. I believe it’s the reason me and Flylo connected, THE GASLAMP KILLER had played it in one of his sets after Flylo dropped the instrumental and it caught Lotus’ ear, the rest is history. There’s so much red tape surrounding Dilla’s Music so I didnt release this song yet to avoid coming off like a vulture just to ride the wave. But for how long do I keep this to myself??? The last couple years have been hard on all of us and I’ve lost very important people so I feel it’s more important than ever to drop now. I’m making the most of these moments because our time is limited. Thank you Josué Thomas for this amazing image!!! Shouts to Mainframe 4 the Magic sessions!!!! & PWC for helping coordinate this release. ((((FREE DL LINK IN BIO))))) Love you all, thank u for the support, love & patience. #Dilla lives forever. #ARTTHATKILLS #GALLERYDEPARTMENT #HIGHRIZEZION

I showed up from work after a super long day and this was in the mail. For reference: #HoldOnJon is one of the most important songs I've ever heard. Saved my life a few times. Damn man. Nice move Woody. Thanks for the love. #PWC #PeopleWithCompassion #PeakWestCoast #FeeLITrecords #SanDiego #Brooklyn #Blu #JohnsonJonson #Mainframe
