Indigenous peoples’ Day is always celebrated on the second Monday of October. The observance honors the histories, cultures, resilience, and ongoing contributions of Native American and Indigenous communities. We have many books, print and/or digital written by Indigenous writers with Indigenous characters. Stop by the library or access Sora, our digital catalog 📚🎧📲

🧡 Every Child Matters.

Wear orange on September 30 for the Day of Truth and Reconciliation. We honor the children who survived Indian residential schools and remember those who never made it home.

Stampede, join us in showing support for Indigenous students, families, and communities. 🧡

I enjoyed the powerful PXU NAEP Native American Convocation. 🤎 Huge congrats to my nephew and all the graduates.

We heard about Indigenous Excellence from GRIC Governor Stephen Roe Lewis. Pearl Yellowman reminded us to thank the people that helped get the graduates ready, especially those in their traditional attire. The amazing Talibah Begay’s voice carried us through the end of the ceremony. She even sang her SpongeBob song 🎶🧽

So grateful my cousins asked me to make Makai’s traditional shirts. I hope to share the sewing video, the love was sewn in. 🧵🩵

We’re calling on our community to show up for the next generation of Indigenous leaders.
The Annual PXU-NAEP Career Expo Clothing Drive helps high school students step into their futures with confidence, style, and access to professional opportunities. Having options for professional clothing attire allows students to feel prepared, seen, and empowered when an opportunity comes their way!
One of the most loved parts of the Career Expo is when students get to “shop” for their own professional outfits by choosing pieces that reflect their own personal style.

The Youth Development team partnered with the PXU NAEP team to bring this O’odham Shell Necklace & Storytelling Workshop to life. Students had the opportunity to hear stories from Kris Dosela and learn about the cultural significance of shells within O’odham culture. 🌊🐚

We had an amazing evening bringing culture, creativity, and community together 🤍🦅

A huge thank you to our NAEP advisors for their collaboration! 🤗🤝🏽
