How amazing was this round?! 👏🏽🤯

My boys were cracking up watching their aunt, @mel_onthemap, dancing with @snoopdogg on $100,000 Pyramid! 😂

Such a surreal day. My other sister, my mom, and I were in the studio audience cheering, screaming, and completely losing it when this happened. 🤣

Definitely one of those moments we’ll be talking about for years. 💕✨

🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨 GAME SHOW GURU FACT 🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨
On the weeks of March 23-27, 1987 on The $25,000 Pyramid and March 30-April 4, 1987 on The $100,000 Pyramid, in honor of the show’s 14th anniversary, the show did a special week called the Parade of Celebrities. As they went to commercial after each segment, twelve celebrities were shown in an alphabetical order list of all the celebrities who had appeared as a celebrity player on the show since it originally premiered on March 26, 1973. It was an idea that Bob Boden who was an executive at CBS at the time thought of and since the format of The $25,000/$100,000 Pyramid in the 80s was very tight, the latter of which was a syndicated version of the former which aired on CBS, there wasn’t a lot of time to do anything other than play the game and finally, they found a way to make that possible. The celebrities on the former week were Melody Thomas Scott and David Graf while the latter week featured Mary Cadorette and Nathan Cook. Note that the show’s most famous host Dick Clark is featured because he played the game at least twice on The $25,000 Pyramid in the 70s which was a syndicated version of The $10,000/$20,000 Pyramid and was hosted by Bill Cullen who himself was a celebrity player on all daytime versions including the final week of The $20,000 Pyramid from June 23-27, 1980 with Lois Nettleton. Special thanks to game show historian Adam Nedeff who did this in memory of June Lockhart who was the first celebrity player on the first week of shows along with Rob Reiner.

🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨 GAME SHOW GURU FACT 🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨

After the quiz show scandals, networks primarily stayed away from offering big money prizes on their game shows and starting in the 1960s, most of them aired in daytime with lower stakes. The first major daytime game show to offer large cash prizes was Pyramid. It started as The $10,000 Pyramid when it premiered on CBS on March 26, 1973. After airing its last episode on CBS on March 29, 1974, ABC picked up the show on May 6 of that year where it later became The $20,000 Pyramid on January 19, 1976 and ended on June 27, 1980. During that time, a weekly syndicated version called The $25,000 Pyramid aired from September 9, 1974 to May 26, 1979 and was hosted by Bill Cullen since Dick Clark who hosted the daytime show was already hosting American Bandstand. After a few months off the air, the show returned in daily syndication as The $50,000 Pyramid from January 26 to June 5, 1981 with Dick returning as host. Over a year later on September 20, 1982, it returned again on CBS as The $25,000 Pyramid and ran until July 1, 1988 with a break between January 4 and April 1 of that year. During that time, a daily syndicated version called The $100,000 Pyramid aired from September 9, 1985 to September 2, 1988, both of which Dick also hosted. After three years, The $100,000 Pyramid returned to syndication from January 7 to December 6, 1991 with host John Davidson. Then it returned again in syndication as Pyramid from September 16, 2002 to May 21, 2004 with host Donny Osmond. After that, Game Show Network revived it as The Pyramid from September 3, to October 26, 2012 with host Mike Richards. And since June 26, 2016, it has aired on ABC as The $100,000 Pyramid with host Michael Strahan. The show has been loved by people of all ages, particularly for its fast gameplay, suspense, and big money prizes and is undoubtedly one of the most successful game shows in the history of television.

Second part of a "May 2025 Throwback!"

A very funny epic moment during my recent "Big 3-5 Birthday Zoom of Games & Entertainment" party! You're playing $25,000 Pyramid. You choose a subject on the Pyramid board. You try to get as many answers (up to seven) correct, and then in this case, you guess a very epically stupid yet funny answer out of thin air! I'll just let this moment here explain for itself! 😂😂
