Have you discovered Justene Williams’ wonderfully wild world yet? We attended the media preview of Justene Williams: Once We Were Mudskippers at @QAGOMA, and it was such an unexpected and fascinating experience. Spanning three decades of her work, this multi-sensory exhibition brings together bold installations, sculpture, video and performance, inspired by punk, feminism, improvisation and art history. The title refers to mudskippers, fascinating little fish that move between land and water — a clever metaphor for adaptability and finding our way through life’s messy moments.
