And that’s a wrap with CMC 2025! My second time at @childmediaconf and Sheffield. Much better in the sunshine!

I caught up with friends, made new and listened to insightful discussions about the kids industry. Also listened to some amazing pitches, which I hope get green lit one day. One of the highlights would be the interactive session where we all made a lovely character - an Italian chef frog on a ship! It was as bonkers as it sounds. But another highlight was meeting the Fox on the Box himself! The childhood icon, Basil Brush!

Thank you all for a lovely three days!

Keep moving forward. ⠀
⠀
That's a phrase from the "Meet the Robinsons" Movie that I still hold dear to my heart and still rings true to this day. ⠀
⠀
So, hi once again, I'm Starrie! ⠀
⠀
I'm a girl who never thought I'd still be standing here today with how much loss I've been facing since 2018 until now, still sharing my art and whatnot with the world. I don't usually share these things but I think I'll keep it at that. ⠀
⠀
Even despite that, I chose to keep living. Tried to be kinder, more understanding, more resilient. I cried and laughed more, allowed space for me to fit in. I found a fandom that accepted me wholeheartedly and we made silly art together. A lot of things can happen in a span of a few years and I'm eternally grateful they happened, Alhamdulillah. ⠀
⠀
I'm... gonna graduate. That's one thing I have yet to grasp and understand. What's next is a frequent question on the mind... and I have to face it eventually. I have to, I know. I just miss a lot of people right now who aren't here to witness me graduating like my grandfathers, my grandpa's sister and my godparents. ⠀
⠀
I miss them. May Allah provide ease for them. ⠀
⠀
In any case, thank you everyone for being here and supporting me. ⠀
⠀
Thanks for giving this girl a chance to be seen. If only for a glimpse or a second or a minute, thank you. ⠀
⠀
Happy holidays and let's stay on this Earth until next year 🫶🏻⠀
⠀
(oh and apologies, I could only tag 20 people so if your name isn't there, I'm still thinking of you mutual and praying that next year will be a better year)⠀

Art Trades! ⠀
⠀
Completed after a millennia except for the last one cuz I'm not sure if Una is active anymore these days :( (I got these around uh............. give or take 1 year ago maybe???) ⠀
⠀
So in order and side by side is my art, nanadyna's, my art, qamaruen's, una.hive5's lineart but then colored by me and then my lineart! ⠀
⠀
oh oh and an overdue, thank you to the ones who lent me their characters and offered to do my OCs in return and apologies for sending these so late - I hope y'all are happy with how they turned out! Btw, I'm still super touched, happy and honoured, I was able to receive pretty drawings of my kids and like I have them tacked on my imaginary fridge in my mind just so you know for safekeeping and admiring purposes! ⠀
⠀
*Reasons as to why I would take so long with an art trade include : intimidation after a long period of time cuz I can't do the characters justice, chores, homework / work in general. I *do* enjoy em'! I just take em' in very small doses to the point of RARITY cuz exhaustion ultimately demands attention and healing. If someone could throw me a health + mana potion, that'd be so very cool of you 🙏🏻⠀
⠀
Anyways, recovery is slow but hopefully, I'll be better around... well, whichever day the dart lands on, I suppose okay ciao !! ⠀
