Same low back pain. Different cause.
Two athletes throwing the same amount, both with low back pain. One gets his arm overhead by arching his low back: ribs pop up, lumbar extension on every throw. The other is cheating through his thoracic spine. Same pain, but they won’t need the same fix.
That’s why we screen the movement, not just the spot that hurts.
From our off-season QB screen with @qbreign.
Looking to get out of pain? Comment REHAB to find out more.

Quarterback throwing mechanics are only part of the equation. 🏈

If your QB is dealing with low back pain during their layback, don’t just look at the low back.

Look at how they move.

Can they rotate? Can they extend? Can they get into the positions their sport demands without compensating somewhere else?

Sometimes, the area that hurts isn’t the area that needs the most attention.

My goal isn’t just to get quarterbacks out of pain. It’s to help them move better so they can get more out of their training and perform at a higher level.

Better movement. Better performance. Fewer limitations.

Coaches, if you want to get more out of your athletes, start by understanding how they move.

QB arm always sore? It’s often a rotation problem, not an arm problem.
If a quarterback is at the end of his range on every throw, it’s like doing a single-leg RDL all the way to the floor on every rep. Do that 100 times and the arm is cooked.
More available rotation means more on the ball and less wear on the arm. It’s one of the first things we screen with @qbreign.
Comment REHAB and tell me where it’s sore. I’ll send you the self-test I’d start with.

Quarterback development is about more than throwing mechanics.

How an athlete moves matters, too.

So fun partnering with QB REIGN to build a full movement screening system that helps them better understand every quarterback they work with and find opportunities to help each athlete reach their full potential.

When coaching and sports medicine work together, we can raise the bar for athlete development.

Let’s keep getting better!
