Had a great weekend at the Strong Island Fast Pitch “Labor Day on the Diamond” tournament. Won the championship 1-4 with a double to LF, single RBI to RF, and a stolen base from 2B to 3B on a wild pitch. 𝙁𝙊𝙍 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙎𝙀𝘾𝙊𝙉𝘿 𝙔𝙀𝘼𝙍 𝙄𝙉 𝘼 𝙍𝙊𝙒, @dutchesscommunitycollege ‘s 𝘼𝙏𝙃𝙇𝙀𝙏𝙀 𝙊𝙁 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙔𝙀𝘼𝙍: 𝗞𝗔𝗬𝗟𝗔 𝗕𝗔𝗘𝗭 🔥🔥🔥

From the moment she stepped onto the field, Kayla set a precedent of making 𝗛𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗬. In her Freshman year, she had 205 strikeouts on the season with 167 innings pitched. @kbaez25 helped lead the team to their first conference championship in over ten years and established a reputation for herself that demanded the attention of competitors from the get; an All-American nominee, a two-time All-Tournament player, a two-time Mid-Hudson Athletic Conference academic recipient, a two-time All-Region First Team selection in Battery, and 2025 and 2026 Runner-Up to NJCAA Region 15 Player of the Year.

In her Sophomore year, she became one of four Falcon 𝗖𝗔𝗣𝗧𝗔𝗜𝗡𝗦. She ended her season with 364 career strikeouts, as well as launched her slugging average to a godly .918 🔑💎

Kayla, we can’t 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗞 𝗬𝗢𝗨 enough— not just for the dominance of your play, but as well for the character and class you have, and the natural leader you are. You helped change the route of the team in the best ways and are undoubtedly the best pitcher we have had the pleasure of watching. If there is anyone who deserves this, it’s you #️⃣1️⃣4️⃣ ‼️

I am extremely excited and grateful to announce my verbal commitment to Queens College to further my academic and athletic career. This wouldn’t be possible without all the support from my family, friends, teammates, and coaches. You have all played a very important role throughout my journey!! I would first like to thank my parents and siblings for always supporting and believing in me. My parents always provided me with the tools to succeed and were very good role models. Thank you to my siblings for constantly pushing me and keeping me competitive. Your endless love, time, and sacrifices on and off the field mean the world to me. I couldn’t have done it without my built in support system. To my current and past teammates, thank you for pushing me every single day on the field, the endless memories, always having my back, and making the journey unforgettable. I also want to sincerely thank Kaileen, Dave and Walter who have guided me, challenged me, and helped me develop not just as a player, but as a person. I couldn’t have done it without their guidance. Each coach played a huge part in helping me reach this goal, and I’m truly grateful! Lastly, I want to thank Coach Amy and the rest of the Queens Softball Coaching staff for this amazing opportunity!
