Four years ago, we took a chance on a vision. What started as an idea became history when I had the honor of serving as the founding and charter secretary of the NAACP chapter at High Point University.

People said an NAACP chapter wouldn’t survive at a private PWI. They said it couldn’t be done.
But four years later, we are still here. Thriving. Growing. Leading.

To go from founding this chapter to becoming its two-time elected president has been one of the greatest honors of my life. Together, we built more than an organization — we built a home. A family. A legacy.

Through every challenge, setback, late night, difficult conversation, and moment where the odds felt stacked against us, we kept showing up. And because of that, our chapter became recognized as one of the best and fastest-growing chapters among private colleges.

The NAACP taught me that our greatest resource will always be community. The people beside you. The people who believe in the vision even before the world does.

I will forever be proud knowing that I helped charter something at High Point University that will outlive all of us. A legacy that future students will continue to grow, protect, and lead for generations to come.

Thank you to every member, leader, advisor, supporter, and friend who poured into this chapter. Thank you for believing. Thank you for fighting. Thank you for building this with me.

Forever grateful. Forever NAACP. 🤍 @naacp_hpu
