Today we raise a glass to the 2026 harvest — unforgettable, emotional, and deeply rewarding. 🍇🍷❤️

After two challenging years, the care and dedication we’ve poured into our biodynamic, Demeter-certified vineyards have paid off: we harvested beautiful Bical and Baga grapes, brimming with promise.

We started by headlamp before sunrise, and today the final basket came in. We’re celebrating resilience, our wonderful team, our 20th harvest together, and Filipa’s 25 years as an independent winemaker.

Bairrada has surprised us once again. Let’s celebrate! 🤘❤️ ❤️❤️

Vamos festejar! 🤘❤️❤️❤️

Grace Gris de Koshu 2025
93 points — Gary Walsh, The Wine Front

Lime, green melon, pear skin, a rice-like nuttiness and a volcanic edge. A touch more grip and grain this year, in a wine built on delicacy.

Eight vintages of Gris de Koshu reviewed, 2018 to 2025. Never below 92.

Katsunuma, Yamanashi. Fifth-generation winemaker Ayana Misawa.

Dão DOC · Alva Sub-Region, Portugal

The Dão is one of Portugal's oldest and most respected wine regions, a granite plateau ringed by mountains in the country's interior. Alva is one of its seven official sub-regions — a cooler, higher-altitude pocket following the Alva River past Oliveira do Hospital and Tábua, shielded from harsh Atlantic winds by the surrounding peaks. Warm summers, cold wet winters, and distinct microclimates near the river give Alva's wines a softer, more fragrant character than the broader Dão style.

Soils: Predominantly weathered granite — poor, free-draining, low in fertility. Vine vigour is naturally restricted, concentrating flavour in small yields.

Vine age: Old, scattered field-blend parcels, mostly planted between the 1940s and 1980s, with some sites pre-dating 1940. Farmed by hand across steep, fragmented mini-plots, using traditional hoes and the lunar calendar for timing.

Varieties: Field blends of indigenous grapes rather than single-varietal plantings. Whites include Fernão Pires, Bical, Malvasia Fina, Encruzado and Arinto. Reds include Baga, Tinta Pinheira, Trincadeira, Alfrocheiro, Touriga Nacional, Jaen, Tinta Roriz and Castelão — each plot tended and harvested separately to preserve the identity of its own patch of granite.

Winemaking: Wild-yeast fermentation, no temperature control, minimal intervention. Reds are typically destemmed, macerated 9–10 days, and fermented in open lagar before slow pressing. Ageing runs through a mix of seasoned oak — barrels and tonneaux of varying sizes — and stainless steel, with natural stabilisation and no fining or filtration.

Harvest 2026 — Two Weeks In

Two weeks into the Baga harvest, and this one is special.

My 25th harvest as an independent winegrower and our 20th together ❤️❤️❤️

Twenty-five years working with Bairrada, never against it. Biodynamic, Demeter certified and focused on our native varieties, with Baga at the heart of everything.

This year, not one gram of copper was used in our vineyards. In our Atlantic climate, that means a lot.

Still observing. Still learning. Still trusting the vines.

More to come 💥💥💥

Vindima 2026 — Duas semanas

Nossa Calcário Bical — Filipa Pato & William Wouters

From the chalky limestone soils of Óis do Bairro, the very heart of Bairrada, comes one of Portugal's most quietly celebrated white wines. 100% Bical, farmed biodynamically under Demeter certification, fermented in old oak and bottled by the lunar calendar.

Three vintages, one conviction: this is a wine about salt, stone and texture, not fruit. The critics agree —

94 The Winefront (2024) · 97 Decanter (2022) · 95 Wine Advocate (2023) · 95 Tim Atkin MW (2023)

Atlantic-fresh, mineral and built to age. Bical at its finest.
