A PROUD MOMENT FOR NORTHWEST ABC

We’re delighted to unveil this fantastic new banner supplied by John Imrie Signs in the Northwest Gym, celebrating an incredible achievement from Aaron Sarwar.

Aaron recently returned from the European Youth Championships with a BRONZE MEDAL in the 50kg category — an outstanding achievement and one that everyone at Northwest ABC is extremely proud of.

This banner will now take pride of place in the gym as a permanent reminder of what can be achieved through dedication, hard work, discipline and belief.

Aaron’s success is an inspiration to every young boxer who walks through the doors of Northwest ABC.

This is only the start for Aaron 🌍

Great to have Aaron Sarwar back in the gym tonight, proudly showing his club mates the European Championship Bronze Medal he won in Serbia last week. 🥉🇷🇸

A fantastic achievement and one the whole club is very proud of. Well done, Aaron! 👏🥊

Aaron had a great tournament winning three bouts against top opposition from Poland, England and Ukraine. Forcing 2 standing counts and a stoppage on his journey to the semi-finals.

Aaron becomes the first Scottish boxer since Sam Hickey in 2018 to medal at the European Under-19 (Youth) Championships, and very possibly the first boxer from Kilmarnock to ever medal at the youth European Championships.

You’ve made your family, your club, your town & your country very proud. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

The Sunset of the Severn Tunnel OLE Project

As this chapter draws to a close, it's a fitting image to reflect on the completion of the Severn Tunnel OLE Project, delivered by @amcogiffen , @qtsgroup and REL as part of ARQ, alongside @networkrail

Large infrastructure projects are built on collaboration, planning, and the efforts of countless individuals working towards a common goal. While the engineering achievements rightly take centre stage, the safe and efficient delivery of works relies on a huge amount of support behind the scenes.

Throughout the blockade, High Motive Ltd was proud to play its part in supporting the workforce and helping ensure the project was delivered safely and efficiently.

During the 16-day blockade, our team:

🔹 Carried out Site Access Controller (SAC) duties, managing access for almost 500 individual personnel across more than 3,000 shifts, including visitors and those working both within the compound and on track.
🔹 Undertook tunnel sentry duties at both tunnel access points, recording more than 8,000 interactions through our access management system.
🔹 Maintained a fully recorded radio communication system throughout the tunnel's 4.3-mile length.
🔹 Issued, tracked and managed critical site equipment, with more than 2,000 items of equipment issued during the blockade.
🔹 Supported the safe coordination and movement of personnel throughout the works.

The scale of the operation required meticulous planning, attention to detail and a dedicated team working around the clock to ensure personnel could access the worksite safely and efficiently.

A huge thank you to everyone involved across all disciplines who contributed to the successful delivery of the Severn Tunnel OLE Project. It has been a privilege to play a part in such a significant railway infrastructure scheme and to work alongside so many committed professionals.

As the lights begin to fade on this project, we look forward to supporting the next challenge.

Step inside the Severn Tunnel 👇

🔧We’re now in week 2 of our major upgrade and progress is building underground

At 4.3 miles long, it’s one of the toughest places to work on the railway. Wet, salty conditions put equipment to the test so we’re installing a new system which will help to bring:

✅ Better performance
✅ Less maintenance
✅ More reliable journeys

A huge team effort from everyone involved 👏 #SevernTunnel #WalesandBorders #Railway #Engineering
