QUADROCOPTER IS THE LEADER IN PROFESSIONAL MULTI-ROTOR AERIAL VIDEO PLATFORMS

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Rain or shine, the annual River Weed Pull Rodeo rolls on!

This year's 2026 River Weed Pull Rodeo brought together around 100 incredible volunteers for one day dedicated to protecting the Flathead River. Most of this reel features our private boater crews tackling noxious weeds along the Middle Fork Flathead River from West Glacier to Blankenship.

A huge thanks to Brenda Guzman for coordinating event and to Glacier Guides & Montana Raft, Glacier Raft Co, Great Northern Whitewater, and Wild River Adventures for getting the majority of our volunteers onto guided rafts farther upstream, and to Wild River Adventures for hosting the post-float BBQ.

Despite the rare rainy weather for this event, volunteers showed up ready to work, learn, and make a difference. Special thanks to the weed specialists from our partner agencies who taught volunteers how to identify and properly remove invasive noxious weeds.

We're also incredibly grateful to our sponsors for making this event possible:
🌿 Quadrocopter
🌿 Hodges Concrete
🌿 Swan Mountain Outfitters
🌿 Sportsman & Ski Haus
🌿 Center for Native Plants and Forest Restoration
🌿 Montana Coffee Traders
🌿 Backslope Brewing
🌿 Flathead National Forest

📸 Stay tuned—we'll be sharing photos from the guided raft sections as they continue to roll in!

Thank you to everyone who helped keep the Flathead wild, healthy, and thriving!

Spring runoff is in full force on the Flathead River system.

The South Fork's striking clarity comes from Hungry Horse Reservoir, where sediment settles before water is released from Hungry Horse Dam. Despite the clear water, flows remain high throughout the basin as snowmelt continues.

⚠️ River levels are elevated, woody debris is moving both above and below the water's surface, and cold water temperatures can quickly lead to hypothermia. Recreating on area rivers is not recommended at this time unless you are with a qualified guide service familiar with current conditions.

The upper South Fork, along with the North and Middle Forks of the Flathead River, is designated as part of the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System, recognizing their outstanding natural, cultural, and recreational values, and free-flowing qualities. A short section of the South Fork upstream of Hungry Horse Reservoir is not included in the designation because of reservoir influences.

Conditions are expected to gradually improve, with rivers likely beginning to drop and clear toward the end of next week, weather and runoff patterns permitting.

Respect the power of spring runoff and enjoy the river from a safe distance. Link in bio for current river conditions tracking.

The Salmonfly hatch is currently in full swing on the Deschutes River and we thought it would be a great time to share a few clips from the Catch Magazine film, Sky High Salmonfly. In this reel you will hear Todd Moen reflect on his time shooting this film almost 12 years ago, the insane fishing action his buddies had and how he shot footage with his home built drone. Take a look and be sure to check out the full film on YouTube!
