Reviewing @kiyomatcha based on our honest, personal taste. 🍵
Today we tried Chiba no Shiro, Hatsumukashi, and Toyokage.

One thing we really like about Kiyo is that their entire ceremonial matcha lineup is sourced from Uji, Japan, and they provide a description for each matcha on their website. We’d definitely recommend reading those first to find one that matches your taste.

Of course, everyone’s taste buds are different, but we found their descriptions to be surprisingly accurate to what we tasted.

Stay tuned for Part 2, where we compare all three and reveal our final ranking. 👀

Making the hus make me matcha. 😆⭐️

Today’s matcha: @kiyomatcha
Their matcha is consistently smooth, vibrant, and premium quality. If you’re shopping on Amazon, it’s definitely one of the brands we’d recommend checking out. Toyokage has to be our favorite so far. 🫶

Steal our everyday matcha ratio:
• 3.8–4g matcha
• 60g water
• 10–14g agave
• 150g oat milk

We found this to be the perfect ratio for an everyday matcha. Not too thick, not too strong and refreshing enough to enjoy every day😮‍💨

Matcha hopping in CC part.2
🍵 Fika
Their matcha is smooth, refreshing, and leans more toward the umami/vegetal side. We feel like the matcha becomes a little more subtle once it’s mixed with milk, but overall it’s still really balanced, refreshing, and enjoyable to drink. For the blueberry matcha, we wish the blueberry flavor stood out a bit more.

🍵 Mamako
We’ve been here quite a few times, and our experience has varied a little. The last couple of times we couldn’t really taste the matcha much, but this visit it came through a lot more and was actually really good. Their matcha is creamy, umami forward, and leans toward the vegetal side.

If you try Mamako, we’d recommend ordering around 75% sweet. We personally find it more balanced that way since we can taste both the matcha and the flavor we’re ordering. Our favorite flavors so far are Blueberry, Banana Cream (yes, we’ve ordered this one multiple times 😆), and White Chocolate Mocha (s/o to Jacob).

*As always, everybody enjoys different kinds of matcha, so don’t let our ratings stop you from trying a place for yourself. 😄

Let us know if you’ve tried any of these places and what your favorites are 👀

Matcha hopping in Corpus Christi pt. 1 🍵

These are just our personal opinions + taste preferences :) We also might’ve missed out on a really good matcha from some places’ menus. Everybody likes different kinds of matcha, so definitely still try places for yourself.

*We personally lean more toward matcha that’s smooth, a little nutty, creamy, not overly bitter, not too grainy, and without too much astringency. We’re also pretty picky with texture + balance, so this is all just for fun and based on what we enjoy drinking ourselves 😁

Let us know if you’d try any of these places and what y’all think about them! Also comment any spots you think we should try next 👀
