The Testimony, The Truth 🤍

Obtaining my PhD was personal to me and I am PROUD of myself! Most things have always come easy to me, but this degree and these 8 years really broke my heart!

In 2016 at the start of my program, I found out that I had a brain tumor. I will never forget Dr. Hudson told me that we would fight it together and we did just that. After 2 years, I completed treatment. That experience showed me how fast things can be perfect to depressive.

In 2020, life got so much brighter for me after I found out I was having my first child, Nori Love! It was the sweetest experience ever! 11 months and 25 days after, I had my second child, Nior Lynx. Although I was scared, I was so thankful! My daughters are my biggest blessings, but can you imagine how having two children under the age of 1 could be life changing in itself?

I ALMOST DIED after giving birth to Nior. I was in the hospital for 28 days and during that time, I had 3 emergency surgeries due to a bowel obstruction and infection in my body. I could not drink or eat anything! I had NG tube in my nose, a picc line, a wound VAC, 2 blood transfusions, and I lost 50 pounds BUT I finished internship in the hospital!

After internship, I attempted to take my LPC exam. Unfortunately, I failed TWICE! I finally became an LPC in 2022 and this was what I needed to start MY OWN mental health agency @Felicityinc_ . Super blessed that God gave me the vision to create this safe space for those who look like me!

In 2023, life CHANGED. It started with a car accident that could’ve taken our lives but still God was faithful! Soon after, I faced one of my biggest fears and depression literally almost won. My family took the biggest hit we could. IYKYK. During this time, I learned the power in praying. I prayed more than I talked to anyone. I learned that success means absolutely nothing if you are not honoring God and keeping Him first.

THERE IS SO MUCH MORE but You MUST keep God first! If you are a hustler at heart, there is no reason you cannot do anything! I am sharing this because people have this MISCONCEPTION that my life is perfect, and IT IS NOT. I had to WORK HARD and FIGHT HARD for this degree!
