A N A R C T I C A ❄️
@queens_college It was an amazing setting for these balloon installations.

I grew up in Cambridge, it is such a beautiful place but as a teenager I never really appreciated it.
Now I'm older. I am mesmerised by the beauty this city has, I have never been the other side of the wall of these beautiful colleges.

Tonight, we gather where the circle closes,
Not in farewell, but where new dawn exposes
The petals of purpose, the fragrance of grace,
Each soul a lantern, each heart a place.

Oh students, seekers with stars in your chest,
You walked through fire, you gave your best.
Your laughter echoed, your silence taught,
You became the poem that effort brought.

To this college (@queens_college @cambridgeuniversity), this beloved ground,
Where wisdom bloomed and truth was found.
To every mentor, every guiding soul,
Who shaped the clay and made it whole.

To the committee (@queensmayball), the hands behind the light,
Who wove this evening from shadows of night.
And to Chevening (@cheveningfcdo), the dreamer’s key,
Who unlocked treasure (funding), and let me be free.

This is not the end, but the door unlatched,
The page turned softly, the spark just matched.
Go forth, with joy carved deep in your name,
For the world awaits, nd you are flame.

We gathered threads of light to weave a night,
A thousand hearts, one trembling kite.
At @queens_college, where centuries still breathe,
We stitched our dreams beneath the eaves.

The arches watched with timeless grace,
As we transformed this hallowed place.
Not with stone, but joy and flame,
A college kindled into name.

The banners rose like whispered vows,
To honour now, not just the “whens” and “hows.”
We crafted moments, bold and shy,
And danced beneath the @cambridgeuniversity sky.

We wrote the script with trembling hand,
As if the stars would understand,
That even those behind the scenes
Are full of love, and broken dreams.

I saw the world not from the throne,
But from the wings,forgoten, alone.
Yet in the quiet, life poured through,
In every “yes,” in every “who.”

There was a girl who sang her truth,
A boy who danced away his youth.
Each act a mirror, soft and bare,
Of all the things we could not share.

And through it all, unseen but near,
My fellow hands, so strong, sincere,
Dear committee (@queensmayball), hearts of gold,
Together, we turned sparks to bold.

We loved in silence, lost in pace,
But found ourselves through every face.
Each prop we moved, each cue we gave,
Was part of something we, too, crave.

From backstage halls to final bow,
We lived, we broke, we made a vow,
That even if the lights grow dim,
We’ll dream again, for them, for Him.

So organise the flowers, the light,
The paper stars, the wings of night,
But know, my love, that from this side,
The soul of life is amplified.
