IT’S A NEW ERA AND A NEW YEAR FOR THE STINGAZ! 💪🏽
The Stingaz are THIS close to locking up 45-year-old slugger King Daddy… who will officially be known as The King of Sting if the ink dries.
Adam and the King go way back (both Italian, both dramatic). Half the league already saw this coming — Adam’s been protecting him from every suspension and league fine like a personal bodyguard for years.
No secret Adam loves the cameras, and the King brings serious media game. Publicity? Guaranteed.
But there are conditions, folks:
• King must drop 40 pounds
• Zero pizza. Zero pasta fazool.
• Prosciutto & fresh mozzarella on extreme probation (and never with semolina bread)
• Adam’s monitoring the diet hard. Rumor is the ankle bracelet is back — it detects Italian food thoughts and sends a full-body zap while Adam gets the notification on his phone
Also… don’t even whisper first base. Daryl’s already got that locked down. Instead, Adam Torres will be running daily outfield practices with the King — a position he hasn’t played regularly in over a decade. Good luck, everyone.
When asked if all this was true, Adam replied in broken English:
“Yes… I validate it.”
(He speaks perfect English and was educated in America, but the fans can’t know that.)
Then he walked out yelling “Va fungulo!” 😂
New year. New era. Possibly new voltage. Let’s go Stingaz.

And that concludes our 2025 season 🐉

After winning the 2024 Northeast Showdown Tournament, the California Dragons returned to Torrington, CT this past September looking to defend their title. While the team made the championship game for the second straight year, we ultimately fell just short of bringing the trophy home.

Game One was started by Jakob Newman, who went the distance—allowing just 2 earned runs and striking out 6. Jose Cepin, Nic Meyer, and Zach Reynolds powered the offense, each collecting two hits and combining for 5 of the team’s 6 RBIs as the Dragons took down the Mariners 7–2.

Game Two was a true pitchers’ duel, with Meyer, Luis Rodriguez, and Nick Gervasio allowing only 4 combined hits. Daniel Preston provided half of the Dragons’ offense, going 2-for-3 at the plate. Despite a strong outing, the Hawks walked off the Dragons 2–1 in the bottom of the 7th.

Game Three was a must-win, and the Dragons responded in dominant fashion. With Gervasio on the mound, allowing 3 earned runs in a 5-inning mercy-rule victory, the Dragons beat the Stingaz 14–4 to punch their ticket back to the championship. Matt Quijano and Meyer each notched 3 hits, Preston added another multi-hit game, and Rodriguez blasted a 2-run homer.

In the Championship Game, the Dragons faced off once again against the NY Hawks. With ace Zach Reynolds taking the mound, he delivered a gutsy performance—striking out 9 over 6 innings and keeping the team within reach. Despite several scoring opportunities, the Dragons came up just short, unable to capitalize with runners in scoring position.

The Dragons Player of the Tournament goes to Nic Meyer, who reached base in all 13 plate appearances across four games. Meyer went 8-for-9 with a double, 4 RBIs, 3 runs, 3 walks, a hit-by-pitch, and reached on an error. He also tossed 4.2 innings on the mound, allowing just one earned run while striking out 4.

As the 2025 season officially comes to a close, the Dragons turn their focus to 2026—determined, reloaded, and ready to finish what we started. 🚀🔥
