POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

What are YOU carrying in your belly that has nothing to do with food? 👀

Trauma. Shame. Grief. Family wounds. Body image. The words people spoke over us. The things we never said.

BELLYFUL is my raw, funny, deeply human one-woman show about what happens when all of that gets carried in the body—and what it can look like to finally begin letting it go. ❤️‍🩹

If you’ve ever struggled with your relationship with your body, your past, your worth, or simply trying to become FREE…

I made this for you.

🎭 BELLYFUL at @theunerasablefest
📍 Willie Agee Playhouse | Inglewood, CA
📅 THIS SUNDAY, September 20
⏰ 7:20 PM

I want to see YOU in the room. 🥹❤️

NOW ON @primevideo @appletv & @tubi Grateful to present the trailer for our feature film “Latasha Harlins”! @latashaharlinsfilm @latashaharlinsfoundation

Visit https://www.latashaharlinsfoundation.org/

Thank you to all the contributors, cast and crew for making this possible. It’s been a blessing to act and produce this film along with @iamshannondion and the Harlins family.

Latasha Harlins isn’t your basic South Central coming to age drama. After experiencing the justice system falling her mother, she aspires to be a lawyer who would one day become a voice for the voiceless. The absence of her father contributes to her finding love in the form of a young man by the name of Ron.

Latasha is a strong debater who uses her gift of words to outwit her competitors. Latasha is equally gifted in track & field. Balancing home life with school life, Latasha quickly loses interest in house duties when her relationship with Ron grows exponentially. No matter how difficult life gets, Latasha becomes a beacon of light to all those she encounters. In the end, she will have to choose between her love for track or her love for debating. But growing up in South Central, will come at a heavy price.

My heart’s joy, my queen and giver of my life came to expand my #40andfree birthday celebration. My oh so sweet Mommy @jazydivapro She more than understands the holiday is celebrated thru July and August 😉. We had a blast including Hollywood Bowl for Quincy Jones’ 90th birthday where Stevie Wonder sang HAPPY BIRTHDAY! So epic! Then Benihana with my beloved two oldest nieces, some time at the beach for a piano session with @mindtravelmusic such a blessing. Then capping it off with one of my favorite things, a boat ride, although almost any water based activity is one of my favorite things lol. I love you sweet Mommy! Thank you for unconditional love, support and care. Thank you for having me as your daughter I’m forever grateful! May God bless us with many many many many more celebrations!

July has been so blessed and I’m grateful to God for the glory that’s shined bright! Our film The Outside by @monetravenell
Showed at @micheauxfilmfest and it was a hit. Then our award winning film Mother’s Tongue by @dwilmospaul showed at @micheauxfilmfest @lashortsfest and @comic_con the feedback was phenomenal!
Thank you to those who came thru to support or sent congratulations my way. It’s always a blessing to see my work on the screen and to meet people who have been touched by it. Especially the independent work that has yet to get full exposure. Working both behind the camera and in front of it, brings me great joy and I’m elated to do it more and more.

One of my prayers has been to create stories that impact and touch people around the world. A glimmer of that has shown up recently when my name was being spoken in a room I had yet to step into all the way in Liberia.

Congratulations to the cast and crew of "Mother's Tongue" we've been nominated for 4 awards in the Journey Home Film Festival @journeyhomefilmfest and the Liberia Film Awards. The Nominations include Best Short Film in the Diaspora, Best Director in the Diaspora, Best Actor in the Diaspora, and Best Actress in the Diaspora - me Vivia E Armstrong! Wow!
Glory to God!

If you know any one in Liberia or with connections to Liberia, please share this post for them to vote for us. Also feel free to message me I'd love to connect with them about this wonderful event taking place June 15-17th. I’ll be participating virtually in their workshop June 16th. Learn more on their website.

Often I’m asked if I provide coaching for acting and voice over acting. So I’m stepping into the light of bringing my multiple years of experience in service to others. Acting can take place on camera or
behind the microphone.
Whether you’re learning how to get started,
working to increase your skill set or
focusing on a particular role/audition.

Heeey 39! Looking mighty fine! Happy birthday to me! Grateful to God for this new chapter. Several moments this past year and even the past few months, where I wasn’t sure I’d make it thru #ButGod kept me. While my healing is ongoing I’m so much better than I was and I’m looking forward to sharing more of my journey. Celebrate everyday God gives! It truly is a gift and everyday is a day of thanksgiving!
