Inspired by a workshop on gender dysphoria from @queer.clinic I've been thinking about...

💗 how yoga helps me with gender dysphoria

💗 what dysphoria takes from me

This relates to the yogic principle of asteya, or non-stealing, because it sometimes feels like dysphoria steals from me.

Next Thursday 23rd January at 7pm GMT we have a workshop on Yoga for Belonging with Kite of Queer Yoga North! We had a beautiful talk with them about what yoga means to them, particularly regarding accessibility, and how yoga can help cultivate within us a sense of belonging.

We really recommending hearing what they have to say - links are in our bio for their short interview on YouTube, and for joining their workshop next week (which is donation based and accessible for all bodies - you are welcome to join even if you just want to lie down and receive some energy.)

💖Yoga for Belonging💖

🌼 Come home to your queer self with accessible and inclusive movement (both floor and chair options offered).
🌼 Beginners to yoga are welcome.
🌼The session aims to create a nourishing space for LGBTQIA+ folx to make the poses their own.
🌼 Join us for healing through connection to ourselves and each other, thanks to this virtual community.

All you need to join this event is:
✨ A warm, quiet space where you can stretch your arms out to the side, safe from obstacles.
✨ If available, set up a yoga mat, a chair, a cushion, blanket, a pillow, and soft lighting - but these are all optional.
✨ Feel free to turn off your camera.
✨ Wear whatever is comfortable that allows you to move (lean in the direction of pyjamas rather than gym gear!).
