Thank you to @queerabsla and @untamedspiritsla for giving @rabbitsforfalasteen a space to fund.raise for Ghazza. THANK YOU to everyone who stopped by to chat with me and purch.ased an item. A HUGE turn out full of love, solidarity, HOPE, kindness, beauty, lots of hugs for our people in Ghazza and all of Fal@steen. Met some fellow Falasteenis, Jordanian, Afghans, etc 🥹🌸 The whole event was a fundraiser for Falast3en. Lots of f.unds was raised!

🧡🐰 @osamamousa196 received 175 for his support.
🧡🐰 @imansarsour received 65 toward her family’s support.

Spent the day with wifey in Silver Lake at the market hosted by @queerabsla (Queer Arabs Los Angeles) in support of Palestine.

Met some incredible people and vendors, and every bit of it went toward aid for families in Gaza. Staying cool with a mango margarita from @untamedspiritsla didn’t hurt either. Yummy! 🥭🍹

Community care is wellness too. Grateful for spaces where we can show up, connect, and give back. Hope for more days like this 🫶🏼✊🏽

Fam! These next couple of weeks are jam packed for community events. We can only post 20 slides at a time, and that’s not even enough to cover everything happening this weekend!

Ease in tonight with a restorative Raja Yoga class led by Sofia Naseem. On Friday, SPECTRE opens at Superchief Gallery with a DJ set by Subliminal Jihad and food by Food Not Bombs, or reclaim your power at a free sword flow masterclass with Sword Girl Dojo at the Feminist Center for Creative Work.

Saturday is stacked. Shop with purpose at QueerAbs’ Market for Palestine, where proceeds go to PCRF and Pal Humanity, or at the Act Now Night Market raising funds for the Immigrant Defenders Law Center. Head to North Hollywood for Somos Pacífico, a fundraiser to rebuild homes in Colombia’s Chocó region after the earthquake. Learn about COINTELPRO and the surveillance state at @midnightbooksla, then close out the night at Halal Night Fest in Torrance. If you’d rather browse, Saturday Souk in Irvine and First Saturdays in Leimert Park have you covered. On Sunday, spend the afternoon at the People’s Free Picnic in Altadena.

October 7 marks three years since 🪂 and organizers across the region have actions planned to make sure it doesn’t pass quietly. Join @ocbannerdrop4pali for a rush hour banner drop or walk out with Los Angeles Revolutionary Youth on Wednesday. On Thursday, the Palestinian Youth Movement and @midnightbooksla host An Evening for Palestine.

Clear your calendar for Palestine next weekend. There’s a lot happening, and we’ll highlight those events in next week’s post. Stay tuned!

This month, we challenge you to pick one event outside your usual circle and go. The same systems that bomb our motherlands are the ones raiding our neighbors and displacing Indigenous communities right here at home. When we show up for each other, we get stronger together.

last weekend i had the pleasure of bringing the first ever (to my knowledge) all-SWANA (southwest asian & north african) drag show to los angeles!! 🎉🎉

if you know me, you know how much i love and fight for my community. for the longest time while living in LA, being here felt so lonely. it wasn’t until i found community that i really started feeling a sense of belonging here.

i wanted to put on a drag show specifically to prove that being arab, or SWANA, doesn’t mean we’re automatically put in this “outsider” box. we aren’t all homophobic, we aren’t all “prudes,” we aren’t all “religious fanatics,” etc etc. my whole purpose was to crush the negative stereotypes against us, one event at a time.

and i had the BEST time with this one. a huge shoutout to our amazing performers and my beautiful friends, @mayaayooni @sukar__baba @sheidybee @thejaykurt with a special appearance from the lovely @sahbitistevie 💗 thank you all so much for letting me put this on, and for giving the performance of a lifetime.

this night was so special to me, and because of our incredible community we raised $600 to support palestine and lebanon during a devastating genocide. we truly couldn’t have done it without you all 🇵🇸🇱🇧

shoutout to @daydayshoots & @yasmine.cocotis for capturing this night 📸🎥 at @parkandlexstudios 🫶🏽

i am forever grateful to be given the space to bring our community together and to continue fighting against the oppression of our people ❤️‍🩹

(and yes, ya girl is doing ALLL of this while battling cancer)
