It’s hard to find the words to express how grateful we are for everyone that participated in the summit. It was an incredible weekend being in community with folks from all different backgrounds, yet so united in the commitment to liberation.

Our contributors offered invaluable insight and we cannot wait to see how it helps our movement as everyone returns to their own community and for next year’s summit! We’ll have more posts highlighting them once we’ve rested a bit!

Queer fight clubs are fighting back!!! For @autostraddle this summer 💪 LGBQT Groups + individuals across the US are taking matters into their own hands by creating fight clubs to build community AND self defense. Amid a tick of political rhetoric and marginalized violence, these clubs foster connection + confidence with skills for security + survival.

I popped by @queerfightschool’s bimonthly jiu jitsu class hosted by my marvelous friend @gayfabe89 held at @havenboxing to 📸 all the fun. Not all attendees wanted to be photographed, so these were just those who OK’ed it. Saved my favorite photo for last ✋ Tysm @em_chad for the call!!

To all our fighting Q&T family, we are back and excited to be hosting another action packed event weekend. QT4 is going to be WILD in all the funnest and most affirming ways imaginable. So tell all your queer and queer adjacent fighting friends and family that Labor Day weekend is the time to be in Seattle. Shout it from the rooftops and sign up for the events of your choosing. BJJ Gi and Nogi tournaments are always competitive and lit af! For the strikers, our event can host folks of all experience levels. First fight, second fight, the smoker is there for you. 5-50 fights, we have a higher level card that we would love to have you be a part of as well! 🌟 IDENTITY EXCHANGE Opening Night Recap 🌟

Thank you to everyone who attended the opening of Identity Exchange! We appreciate all who came to the UpFront Gallery to view the artwork on display as well as the performance by @sir.beau.elliot and took part in our Love Letters and Mini Zine activations.

Identity Exchange will be on view until May 23rd. If you missed the opening, be sure to see the exhbit, including the handmade outfit @sir.beau.elliot wore during the performance.

Identity Exchange is an intergenerational show of local Austin trans and gender non-conforming artists. In preparation, the exhibiting artists had conversations about their identity, what it means to be true to yourself, and what trans people living in Texas today need. Artists created works based on ideas brought up in their talks. Some recurring themes throughout the show are community, authenticity, and representation.

Hey all!

It’s been a year! We’re so happy about the workshops we’ve done and the folks we’ve got to work with this year, we just wanted to make this appreciation post to for all the folks who supported us this year!

Self defense education is a topic that we’re passionate about sharing with individuals and communities, and in 2024 we were able to reach and meet so many folks! From workshops at local spots like Woodbine, to working with orgs like Claim Our Space, to tabeling at events by the NYC Anarchist Bookfair, @havenboxing , @punkislandnyc , and @purgatory.bk , with zines from other great groups like Angry Asian Women, Trans Fighter, Malikah, Soar Over Hate and more!

Plus, super grateful to have worked with with great instructors like Jose Carlos, Simi, Mylo, @antopoiesis , Ivan, and connected with other cool martial arts folks online and in person! Thank you to all the folks who have helped and helped our efforts wether as an instructor, admin or supporter ⭐️✨⭐️

Looking toward the new year, we’ll be doing more workshops, collabs, and events, so keep an eye on our insta here, and check out popgym.org for more!

As always, any little bit helps so if you got a little bit to give to our worka d further our projects into 2025, we would appreciate it!
