Hold onto your hats! Feeling so sentimental as I fly home from Frankfurt that I need to share some pics of the people who made this such a special time…

1. Lulu director Nadja Loschky after our premiere. We had an incredible connection, working so seriously and intensely but also being SO goofy together. 💙 #friends

2. Backstage before the 2nd half of Lulu with two of the best @michael_the_tenor @ajglueckert

3. With the fantastic @simonnealbaritone after our final Lulu. Such a gentleman and a fierce stage partner as Dr. Schön. 🔥

4. My very dear @epoaros and I after the Partenope premiere at one of my fav performance spaces, the Bockenheimer Depot

5. A little Oktoberfest fun in Frankfurt with @barnabyrea_bass, who still gets called to rehearsal in Frankfurt instead of me! 😂 too confusing having a B. Rae and a B. Rea in the house!

6. @questaway and @ajglueckert adopted me into their family’s Wizard of Oz Halloween theme (their adorable kids were Dorothy and the Cowardly Lion) and I figured they needed a Yellow Brick Road to follow…

7. I had some folks over for a cocktail party so I could share my Lulu cocktail creation 🍸 @jessica_niles_ @angelicacconner @iain_macneil @jarrettloganporter @acraeus kept the party going 💖

8. A jaunt up to Berlin between shows to spend some much needed friend time with fellow opera-singing Wisconsinite @heidistober.soprano

9. More Berlin friend time with the luminescent @rachaelwilsonmezzo

10. Every time I visited @coffidee and @david.jan.palfi at their place they made the most incredible food and drink 💙😘

11. Delighting in the fact that we were rehearsing Lulu and Partenope in the same opera house 😍 @jessica_niles_

12. Birthday celebrations with sweet bday girl @cecehallsings and @epoaros

13. One of the best parts of being in Germany is being able to randomly meet up with old friends, even if just for a quick coffee! @laurapoepiano

14. Pretending to be kitties with @questaway and @ajglueckert’s littlest darling girl

15. New climbing buddies @aldenpiano and @kels.lauritano!!! @oper_frankfurt represent!!

(Continued in comments omg why am I writing so much)

I’ve been quiet on here for a while, but suddenly spring has sprung! Here are some of the people/places/moments/memories that have brought me happiness the past few months. It is certainly not a comprehensive list (but Instagram only allowed me 10 photos)! Life surely has its lows and highs and ups and downs; let’s celebrate the joy. Happy May ☀️

I got an email this morning asking me to post pics that show #WhyILoveDuchesne. My high school experience gave me friends for life, an amazing education and love for language and literature that helped me write a collection of poetry, and I got to be the Lion in our amazing rendition of The Wizard of Oz my senior year. Love to all my Duchesne dollies on Valentine’s Day! I’m a big nerd about how much I love you all! ❤️
