As I start a new grant year of directing the @illinoisfilmoffice PA workforce training program, I want to highlight the phenomenal students that I have gotten to interview, teach, and mentor over the last two years.

I am honored to play a role in helping launch the careers of these future trailblazers in the film industry. My knowledge and years of experience in the film industry provided me with the perfect path to where I am now and I look forward to the continued growth to come.

If you are looking for trained and highly qualified PAs, hit me up!

@chaepter is playing a show tomorrow (Thursday August 20th) at Lowdown with our pals @piracyweb from STL. Our first show home since we came back. In the meantime I'd thought I'd share the photos I took on the second half of leg 2 of tour

It looks like most of the photos I took were from NYC, where we graciously were hosted by our friend Cole. You'll have to catch me in person if you really want to hear a tale from these travels, but I love New York City. I'll die on the hill of saying Chicago is the best city in the country, but there's no place in the US that's as alive, and international as NYC feels. As an extroverted person I'd say this is a dream place to be because so many folks want to strike up or be open to conversation anywhere you go.

Followed the World Cup during this run. Saw my team England lose in too familiar a way in a Boston bar full of Argentina fans. Depression faded when the mechanic called and said they got our van fixed before they closed. Navigated so many East Coast places in the middle of the summer wildfire smog. Found out Reading, PA is a real jewel of a town. Ran into so many familiar faces at our NYC show, that really brought such a smile to my face.

If there's anything novel I'd like to add, it is that everyone in @chaepter are so incredibly resilient and resourceful and not one to complain about anything. We put our heads together to figure things out when anything goes wrong (like the van breaking down) and we speak up if anything bothers us. We seek the joys of the natural world, and we have so much fun meeting and learning about people and places.

I know there will be some eye rolling when I say this, but all this being said makes me think about Julian. I've luckily known some of the best human beings you could hope to meet and better yet get to call them friends and family and bandmates. I want Julian to be resilient and resourceful.. use his head when things get tough.. open up and when things are hard. Care about the world and people and art and nature etc

It just feels very lucky when my current environment and people around me represent everything I want for my son.

First leg of Chaepter tour photos. Portrait edition.

1.) @chaepter enjoying a swing at his brother's house in Wisconsin. We stopped for vegetables. I've already said enough superlatives about that guy
2.) @piracyweb outside The Sinkhole in STL. My favorite band we played with on tour. Play their newest record "CCCCCCC" it's filled with so much musical joy.
3.) @max.demarc0 and @mahrosey in Dayton, OH. Very community forward and cultured folk. Proves you don't have to live in a huge city to be the coolest people on earth.
4.) @meoowolivia outside of Factory Coffee in Kalamazoo. A good friend of the band and one of the most inspiring photographers/artists I've met. Seriously check out their art.
5.) @pokateoes in Chicago dropping me and John off to start the run. She is the unsung hero of this tour, by pulling single parent duties when I'm gone. It's hard as hell to parent alone, and she's being super mama right now for Julian. I owe everything to this rockstar.
6.) @questionfreely and @saphous3 outside of the venue we played in Milwaukee (name is escaping me). Olivia sang Stages with us that night. They are one of the most warm and caring humans I've met.
7.) @laytonguy standing in a vegetable garden. Now that I've spent a good amount of time with Layton, I can vouch for not only his great musical talent, but that he is a very intelligent, thoughtful, and very funny fella. Glad I've made this new friend.
8.) John sitting near the aforementioned vegetable garden. He and I have become one as a rhythm section in this band. Playing probably over a hundred shows together will do that. John is writing a tour diary/book about all of our travels in this band. He is a very articulate and astute writer, and he is an even better human being and friend.

Face casting for a film SFX prosthetic! Day in the life of an actor! @questionfreely did a great job! I did panic for a second, it’s very claustrophobic! Deep breathing helped :) I’ll post the final result after we’re done filming! #facecast #sfx #actor #horror #dayinthelife #film #chicago
