It’s a new year and a new term where I get to serve the residents of District 16 at the Westchester County Board of Legislators and I am both humbled and honored.

Yesterday I was officially sworn in by County Clerk Tom Roach - Thank you and Congrats to you in your first year as County Clerk!

I am grateful to my mother, my partner, my closest friends, community leaders, and constituents who attended the first Board of Legislators meeting of the year to witness my colleagues and me being sworn in together.

I extend my congratulations to all my colleagues on their successful elections and look forward to working collaboratively to serve the residents of this great county to the highest standard.

This will be a one-year legislative term, and while the timeline is short, the responsibility is great. I know we are up to the task, and I am honored to serve as Majority Whip this year as we work toward a productive and successful term.

For anyone who may be reading this post, regardless if you live in my district or not, if you are a Westchester County resident and want to remain in the know on what’s happening countywide, I encourage you to sign up for my newsletter as I will continue to send important information out on a weekly basis that may be helpful/beneficial to you. The link to sign up is in my bio. If you need assistance of any kind, do not hesitate to contact my office via email shwi@westchestercountyny.gov or via phone 914-995-2829.

I’ve been struggling lately to find motivation to get out there and paddle often to prepare for my upcoming expedition. Then this video came up and gave me a perfect reminder how much fun paddling is when you allow it to be paddling. Shoutout to @quicheee__ & @shanaeforwestchester for supporting my antics 🤣 🤣
