Christina I don’t even know where to begin. I still can’t wrap my mind around the news… we were just texting Saturday. Oh how I wish I’d have made the time to call you that day. You were such a light to everyone you knew. You always made everyone feel so loved. You held a special place in my heart and always will. We met my first show I competed in back in 2012 and it was almost immediate that we became best friends. Trips together to Vegas to watch the Olympia, our two week trip to Cali visiting Napa and LA… the countless times we were always there for each other through good and bad. The one show we actually got to prep together for was one of my favorite. I didn’t do well but you did and I loved getting to prep by your side. I’ll also never forget when I lived in San Antonio and I drove to Austin to pick you up late at night after an ex left you at a party… I didn’t even think twice. I was on my way. You were that type of friend. I know as we both grew in life our friendship wasn’t breakable no matter if I was in Vegas or you were now married… we were always a phone call or text away. I still don’t understand why God took you so soon… hard to grasp this news. I love you and you were gone far too soon! Rest in peace my sweet beautiful friend. I hoe you’re happily reunited with your parents. Now I have one heck of a guardian angel watching over me. Heaven gained another angel.. 🕊️ I love you! ❤️ 🥹🙏🏼

Yesterday, our amazing friend Christina passed away. 
I met Christina in 2012 at the Lackland Classic. it was my first bodybuilding show, and she was there competing in bikini. That’s when our paths first truly crossed, and a lot of life has happened since then. We shared in growing up together over the years. 
I was blessed to coach her during her IFBB Pro career, witnessing firsthand someone who poured her whole heart into the sport. Christina could work her ass off for the things she cared about. She was funny as hell, too, and so sharp—starting her amazing business Weights and Cakes, selling delicious treats to hungry bodybuilders. It was genius. I don’t even know how she prepped for shows without eating all the cakes herself! 
To know Christina was to feel love in its purest form. She was love. She had this gift for making everyone feel seen, important, and deeply cared for. She was always encouraging, always your biggest cheerleader. If you hurt, she hurt with you. She showed up. No matter what. 
She brought people together and made them feel like family. She created moments that mattered and reminded all of us what’s truly important. She was a light, a glue, a force of warmth and connection. 
Christina loved her family so fiercely. She was so proud to be Brent’s wife, and she adored their kids with everything she had. Watching her step into motherhood was one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen. She poured all of that same warmth, encouragement, and loyalty into her family. She built a home filled with love, laughter, and support. 
My heart breaks for Brent and the kids. I hope they always know how loved Christina was by everyone who knew her, and how deeply her spirit lives on in them.

Just last week, I got to have dinner with her. I’m so grateful for those moments. I only wish they’d been longer, and more frequent. 
I hope everyone gets a Christina in their life. And I hope we can all live our lives more like she did: bringing people together and loving them hard.
