Meet Kalayna Walker

Kalayna reaches beyond her title as the 2025 LSU Homecoming Queen. She is a published author, entrepreneur, and dancer.

Her second book, Crowned Before the Crown, follows her first publication, Bald Truth, continuing her journey of sharing her story of battling alopecia. Through her organization, Alo Bloom, Kalayna also dedicates her time to mentoring youth navigating life with alopecia, helping them build confidence and embrace their individuality.

A former NBA dancer for the New Orleans Pelicans, Kalayna continues to pursue her passion for dance through teaching while expanding her creative and entrepreneurial projects. Her dedication to storytelling, mentorship, and empowering others is so important to our community in Baton Rouge.

We are so excited to welcome Kalayna Walker and her book, Crowned Before the Crown, to The Foyer! We’re proud to showcase creators who use their experiences to inspire others and make a lasting impact in their communities.

Meet Maize Designs

Maize Designs is a family-run interior design business built around a love for beautiful spaces, meaningful pieces, and the people who bring a home to life.

Molly Maize found her passion for interiors through the influence of her mother and grandmother. Her mother, Ann, has spent all of her life with a passion for interiors, retail, and running her own store. After studying interior design at LSU, Molly combined that family inspiration with her own creative vision to build Maize Designs alongside her family.

For the Maize family, their customers are truly the highlight of what they do. They love meeting new people, hearing their stories, and helping curate spaces that feel personal, comfortable, and full of happiness. Every home has a story, and they enjoy helping their clients bring that story to life through thoughtful design.

You can find four rooms of Maize Designs at The Foyer, filled with everything from lighting and serving pieces to furniture, decor, and so much more. Each space offers a chance to discover pieces that can bring personality and warmth into your own home.

We’re so happy to have Maize Designs as part of The Foyer community and to share their passion for creating homes where people can feel truly comfortable and happy.
