Funny how dance can teach you so much about yourself… How much you think... How comfortable you are making mistakes, connecting, and being seen. And then every once in a while, you stop thinking about all of it. The music comes on. You find the rhythm. And you just move. Maybe sometimes losing yourself is how you find a little more of yourself. (Country night @theroyalgrove with my friends @quickprodjs @jhackz07 @dj_schuman21 )

We somehow went from talking about our kids to psychoanalyzing Renaissance artists at a country bar. we met back in 2011 to a different style of music. Life happened. I moved away, eventually came back, and a couple years ago we randomly crossed paths again and realized our kids now go to the same school. yesterday he texted me: “I’m at @tankscountry tonight. You need to come out. Haven’t seen you in forever.” I knew I had jiu jitsu. but he was right, it had been forever, so I told him I’d be there. I was worn out after jiu jitsu, but I was gonna keep my follow through. We started by catching up about our kids. Somehow that turned into the education system, business ideas, his trip through Florence and Rome, Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci… and eventually a conversation about weird people. The curious ones. The ones who don’t seem particularly interested in staying in one lane. The ones who disappear down rabbit holes just because they need to know where they lead. The ones who need time alone to think, create, build, or just make sense of whatever is going on inside their head. The ones who haven’t sanded off all their strange edges just to make themselves easier for everyone else to understand. Maybe that’s why I’ve always had a soft spot for the weird ones. I’ve spent enough of my own life taking the path that made sense on paper, then wandering off it because something in me wanted to know what was over there instead. And the older I get, the more I appreciate people who still have some of that in them. Curiosity. Individuality. A willingness to follow an idea somewhere strange. Not because being different automatically makes someone interesting. But because some of the best conversations happen when nobody at the table is worried about sounding normal. Anyway… Somehow two dads catching up at a country bar ended up talking about parenting, education, business, Renaissance artists, and the value of being a little fucking weird. @quickprodjs
