At a time when most surviving DC2 Integras are being restored back to OEM spec or turned into modern track builds, Nguyễn Le aka @x.ricer.x continues to keep an important piece of tuner history alive with his unforgettable “Cali Type R” Integra. Featured by Super Street, this build is a perfect representation of the late ‘90s and early 2000s import scene that helped shape Honda culture into what it is today.

This was the era when creativity ruled everything. Aggressive body kits, molded panels, Altezza taillights, bright paint, wild interiors, underglow, and loud exhaust setups were all part of the formula. Builds were meant to stand out, not blend in. The California Type R captures that mindset perfectly, staying true to the style and personality that defined the golden age of the import tuner movement.

What makes this Integra special is not just the look itself, but the fact that Nguyễn Le has continued preserving it in a world where so many period correct builds disappeared over the years. Cars like this used to dominate magazine covers, DVD features, and late night parking lot meets across California. Today, finding a true survivor that still embraces that original tuner era identity is becoming incredibly rare.

Love it or hate it, this style of building Hondas played a huge role in inspiring an entire generation of enthusiasts. Huge respect to Nguyễn Le for continuing to represent that era and keeping this side of import culture alive.
