had a great time at the check on your mate event hosted by @forartssakecle this week! i think the event was a great way to highlight the importance of community, checking in on each other, and mental wellness.

chess is also a great tool for reducing stress and anxiety. i might see if dad still has his chessboard and learn how to play.

i had the honor of sharing the stage with some amazing poets and reading our work. afterwards we watched a few chess matches and got a pic with Steven Kwan. ⚾️

community-driven events like this matter. grateful i could participate!

This summer owes me NOTHING!

Just a recap of some of my favorite memories this summer. I may need to do a part 2! This summer was such a blessing, especially after how much of my year went. 😮‍💨🥹

I had a chance to do something on my bucket list (horseback riding), traveled to Detroit for poetry @sharp.pens , celebrated myself and others with people I love, join an outreach team for a space that I love and call family @btsoundscle, release my book and magazines, got a chance to be apart of a documentary for another platform that has just helped me become a better artists @thesparrowsfortune , and so much more!

My life is just fruit that God is truly faithful and hears our prayers. It’s never in our timing but ALWAYS IN HIS!

This project took me 2 years. I’ve learned that consistency isn’t hard. Being consistent while navigating the hardships of life is hard. I’m gonna be honest and say that I understand why people stop trying to make their art happen. I finished this project through some of the toughest moments of my life while also being belittled during those moments…powerless…and damn, I can’t believe I’m going through this and this and this…and my inner child wants to randomly write a poem inspired by the psychology of personality types!? What the hell. I almost not only gave up on the project, but my creative path. Investing your time, energy, and money you don’t got into something that may never give any return is true love…the most unconditional an artist can have for their work. Ironically, it keeps us sane through the hardships even though the hardships make it hard to create…If you’re an artist, please keep making stuff, we need that shit. I say all this to say, like always, I hope this makes you feel something. “invasion of the introverts”, 8.29.2025 #foryourconsideration
