Thanks for all your lovely anniversary wishes! We celebrated by extending a gig I had in Milwaukee. What a great town! The downtown architecture is incredible, as is the food and friendly people, too. Here are a few highlights:

Not my work, but the work of @quilter1997 and if you're not following her you should be. She's marvelously talented, a lover of feed sacks, and perhaps the kindest person around. This arrived in my mailbox and my jaw just dropped-so many beautiful feed sack Dresdens, hand-appliquéd, and hand-quilted! It's inspirational-the sashing and sweet gingham cornerstones are sparking ideas for one of my projects. I am gob-smacked on so many levels. Seeing people use my fabric is always a thrill and an honor. But there is something about @quilter1997's beautiful rendition of @jenkingwell's Lozenge Hex that made me tear up. She combined Flour Garden, Flowers for Freya, and Morning Light and gave the pattern her own twist. Seeing someone use these "raw materials" from the past three years to make something beautiful and creative and lasting is deeply satisfying and gratifying. On today, in 2013 (back when no one knew our real hair color!) we finally met Jen Kingwell at, believe it or not, THE QUILT ASYLUM. We had been working on one of her quilt patterns all year. Susan bought all her patterns, hand piecing, the fall market before and we all jumped on the hand piecing bandwagon and never looked back! @quilter1997 Vicky Carroll brought in her Glitter quilt top today. Holy cow! It’s beautiful! 152 blocks, 304 different fabrics, not including the backgrounds, blocks hand pieced, then all the blocks machine pieced together. A busy week and it’s just Wednesday! Christmas samples are starting to roll in. The first, Lovely Branches. A “Charlie Brown”style tree embroidered in-house and quilted by Bettepat Graves. The second, Crazy Christmas Trees, pieced and hand-quilted by the very talented Vicky Carroll! Zoom in and check out her quilting! We are waiting for patterns to come in for the tree quilt, otherwise, these trees are kitted and ready to go! Then we have a beginner sewing class taught by Judy Kysely.
